Sterling V Januzaj interesting comparion

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Garlic Klopp, Jan 25, 2014.

  1. Yeah, I know. I actually still think Japseye could become a very player in the long term but needs games. I'm not convinced on Sterling if his pace were to be taken away. He's better than I thought when posting that above comment but still needs to improve with his end product.

This thread is just bullying now.

Make it Sterling vs Di Maria so at least they're in the same league.

    Or Ibe vs Januzaj.

Jermanjizz needs to buff up. Sterling is very strong, for his size he's VERY strong. Jermanjizz has no muscle in his game, easy to push off the ball. Makes bad or no decisions and hasn't grasped body positioning as a means to get by players, tooo easy to box in and although pacey, lacks any real pace over the first 5 yards and with said body positioning on the ball, it's made life hard for him, so, I blame whomever is developing him. With proper instruction he should actually be a lot better than he is cos he has the tools, he is not being taught how to use them effectively.

I still laugh when Mancs try take all the credit for what Ronaldo became <laugh> The lad is a seriously professionally minded player, more than most. He was always going to be a top top player no matter where he went. Even his diet he takes ultra seriously, and looking at jarmanjizz' development and what they turned Rooney into, food for thought.
Same with Wenger and Henry, Henry's best attributes were his pace and finishing, neither can be attributed to Wenger. Some players just peak later and that's exactly what happened with Henry

Who dug this one up? <laugh>
Last season Sterling had a fairly indifferent start, so a year ago it might have been a debate.
Since then their career paths have taken opposite trajectories and there's no contest.
Januwotsit can take some encouragement from the fact that Sterling started his career with promise, then went into a relative slump, then came back stronger and built on that.
Lots of young players show a lot of potential that never gets realised, I agree that Jan would probably benefit from a loan, because it doesn't look like he's going to get too much of an opportunity at Utd in the near future.

I dug it up to point out some misguided opinions :D

Sterling was a comparison when Rodgers arrived, after the first year under Rodgers he was a completely different player and playing down the middle instead of out wide, that's a major difference between the two, Jermanjizz has not advanced at all under Moyes and #tacticalgenius

When players are this young it is difficult to predict where they'll end up. For me there is no doubt that Sterling is currently the more productive and more key to the team. his pace is greater and he is scoring more. At this time, I would take him over the mancs player. Last year it was Januzaj who was ahead but he seems to have been eclipsed at his club and is not getting opportunities.

However, I do recall 2 players joining the premiership at the same time ages ago and were of the same age - both 18 years old. One was called Jose Antonio Reyes and the other was a player called...Christiano Ronaldo. The first 2 years, Arsenal and Liverpool fans (including me) mocked the mancs for paying such a big amount for a circus clown full of tricks while Reyes who was bought for almost the same amount of money was scoring goals in the first team.

I cannot see Januzaj doing the same as Ronaldo but who knows? If he does half as well he'll do an amazing job - I hope I am wrong but in many years time we could find the roles reversed.

Sounds to me like you know something we don't, as in you've got chains, a gag, a map of Manchester and some lube in the boot of your car. ;)

It is true, you think the seed from 9 months before did the job, it was actually the seed from 2 years before that finally got around to doing their job <laugh>
