Yep, he's a ****ing handful who defenders almost certainly hate playing against. Like Shane Long, but good...

If the race thing was true then surely half of the PL players would get the same grief. Wright's talking bollocks, and likes to come across as the hard done by black kid. All that whilst driving his flash car and living in his mansion.

Fair, but why does Sterling get the treatment he does from the press? I don’t recall him doing anything too grotesque, particularly by modern footballers’ standards.

I've no idea mate. He had a **** WC but that's not really a crime. Could be a John Barnes situation maybe? He was class for his club, but **** in an England shirt.

The media were all over him long before the WC. The bloke can’t get a cup of coffee without it being made out to be a crime.

Seems to me that a lot of journo's are Liverpool fans and they're butt-hurt that he wanted to move to City to win things, and the majority of the rest are Utd fans, who hate him cos he plays for City, I think that's why he got singled out, rather than Southgates tactical ineptitude. He performs with City because he gets support quickly, and he didn't with England.

It seems to have escaped Wright that the vast majority of those calling for Sterling to be dropped at the world cup wanted him replaced with Rashford.

Who is, of course, also black.

I think Sterling with his pace and low centre of gravity is let down immensely by his lack of technique, awareness and decision making. No doubt he has improved immensely under Guardiola at Man City but then again he is playing with World class players around him in a system that allows him to thrive similar in a way in which Andy Cole for all his limitations thrived at Man It'd and likewise Heskey did at Liverpool during their treble season.

Put it simply - Sterling is quite thick

He's very similar to Theo Walcott. Looks decent and can score a goal, so long as he doesn't have to think about it.
