Very few transfers these days, British or foreign, are value for money. Some have said with a striker in their first season, if they got a goal per £1m spent on them, it was worthwhile so we've been seriously short-changed <laugh>

Exactly mate, which just goes to show how ridiculous the transfer fees have got. As for Benteke, 2 down - 30 to go <laugh>

  7. All did well domestically which is what we were talking about.

Plus, you were talking about recent English players that moved and proved to be worth the money. Going to be quite hard if you're not allowed to include the so-called Golden Generation <laugh>

i wouldnt include any of them to be honest as its hard to tell if they was value for money as they joined money teams who had class players around them.

i have never rated rio any way, i know that will go down well lol but for me it was always vidic that was the class player same as stam. lampard had quality around him who done the donkey work for him.

and with rooney, he looked class when utd first brought him, but i think he is like a lot of other english players who are way way hyped up and do very little to justify it.

  9. Rate them or not, all those players were bought and the buying clubs got years of quality service from them (bar maybe Beckham) as a result. They were all value for money (in terms of transfer fee).

It means we have two creative players i.e Coutinho and Firmino who like the play ahead of them and passing into space.

Benteke prefers ball on his head or chest.

If only it were easy for strikers to transfer their goal records just like that, with no thought to compatibility or style of play.

Is that how Ballo preferred it too or was there another reason your creative players couldn't find him?

Yes it is - just like Benteke, their hold up play is excellent but pointless if you don't get players around them.

Both players suffering from playing in a poor system which does not get the best out of them, and that's on the manager.

    That's absolute bobbins mate.

Benteke is great in the air, but he's also very good with the ball played in front of him with plenty of grass to run into. Saying that your creative players don't somehow suit the striker is the biggest load of ****e you've ever come out with.
