Be interesting to see where he'll end up playing.. Says he's at home in the centre so has McInnes already gathered that Marv can't pass? And has brought in a 6ft 1 CM to keep a threat in the air but better in possesion? Or maybe wide left? Nice to have a left footed CM player though, should provide a better balance in the middle..

The DCFC Forum makes interesting reading about Pearson.
They don't rate him at all.

Still, let's see how he performs starting Saturday, we all wish him the best.
He's a Scottish International and McInnes has obviously seen something in him that brings him to AG.

Got to agree with Redprintt, picked this up from a Derby fan on OTIB....

Derby fan here just giving you a genuine fans insight to Stephen Pearson. I will sound like I'm having a go, but trust me - I'm not.

As has been noted by redjen he is a massive sicknote. Don't be surprised if he comes off in his first game after 30mins. This could be anything, he doesn't have just one injury that keeps niggling him. Think of an injury - and he could get it.

He can't tackle or make any kind of challenge (including arial). Bottles 70-30's in his favour. He'll now be the biggest handbag in your squad. By a mile.

He's no good in the air (see above)

He's quick when running with the ball at his feet but must be in a straight line. The type of player that would just keep running into the stand and then into the car park.

If you play him in the middle of the park, you must have two ball winners along side him.

Best in wide areas really due to his pace (I say pace, we're not talking Theo Walcott here - just quick).

Should score more goals than he does as he gets into the box but when faced with a shooting opportunity, he's like a rabbit in the headlights.

He seems like a nice chap so I hope he does well but we've been waiting for him to 'do well' for years and it hasn't happened. Maybe a change of club will give him a new lease of life (although he's played for three managers under us now and never changed). Clough seemed to want to persevere with him at the start of the season.
Some thoughts are that he's a good pro that works hard in training so gets a shot on a Saturday. Then at 3:01pm it all goes the way of the pear. Who knows.

Good luck for the rest of the season and good luck with Pearson.

Still if he signs I'll trust Delboy......

Worth mentioning that this is only being stated by the BEP atm, no official word at all.

Be interesting to see what formation Del plays at home this week, we certainly look to be packing the centre of the pitch. Perhaps he wants to keep play narrow?

WOW redprint, are you feeling alright? thats the first positive comment youve ever made regarding city... this is a moment to never forget!

It's always interesting to read other fans' opinions but they are just that... opinions. The lad played for Celtic and Scotland and before we hear the Scottish jokes, that is still above our current standard. Del obviously knows him from his time up north and we have to trust him 100%. If he does well, he's out of contract at the end of the season and could be a freebie. If he's no good, we'll have no obligation.

Whilst the Ram fan claimed it was an unbiased opinion, there was just nothing positive about the lad other than he trains hard. Sounds a bit fishy to me.

OR - I posted the following after DM's first game, we lost to Brum and was called negative.

'negativity'
AM - you're confused with objectivity.
'DM doesn't know a lot about our playing staff etc' -That's just stating the obvious.
After watching the famous dvds (his words) he played 2 wingers with Marv and the lightweight NK and dropped Cisse. I thought it wrong.
He played an 'Ocean Liner' at LB and a 'natural' LB was left on the bench.
I thought that wrong as well - it's called objectivity.
Cisse will start Saturday, J-C-R won't, and Nyatanga won't play LB either.
AM - Is that negative or objective ?''

Trouble is with a few clowns on here - BJA and A Dicks in particular, they are unable to differentiate between the words Negative and Objective.

Now, have a read again and ask yourself - did Cisse start, was J-C-R dropped and was Nyatanga moved inside.
DM did exactly that and yet I'm called negative.
Clowns.

good thing about this deal, its only 2 months, that way if he's crap we wont know that until 5-6 games in and by that time he will be ready to go, if hes good, we can extend the loan till may and snap him up on the free, very good negotiations here, better than signing Mcgivern for a season:(

also whats happened to Spence, has he fell out of favor under DM or is he just injured

spence played in reserves i think its good we have mcgivern til end of season del boy will get the best out of him and also i worry we going for a player who can't get in a fellow championship team

Maybe he's decided that Woolford can provide the creativity in the middle of the park, and Pearson gives balance to the side on the left.

He mentioned square pegs in round holes - i like the fact he's trying to get the right palyers in the right positions to give the side shape and balance.

Red, i can differentiate between negativity, and objectivity, everytime i read one of your posts, Negativity, now we can all be objective, i'm know different than you on that score, and me being a clown, well clowns make people laugh, glad to keep you happy.
