Stephen Hendry has retired from snooker after suffering a 13-2 defeat to Stephen Maguire at the Crucible. He said the decision "felt right" and that he had "made the decision 3 months ago". He told the BBC that it was a combination of the hectic schedule, him not playing the snooker he wants to play and the fact he is no longer enjoying practice.
Hendry is a 7 time world champion who was ranked #1 in the world from 1990-1998 and again in 2006/7. He has 775 century breaks to his name and 11 maximum breaks.
