Andy I think I speak for most of us here in hoping that you remain on our forum - both yourself and Leo are valued members who contribute a great deal. Sometimes we need to stop and think about the medium of communication we are using here and remind ourselves that if we were all in a pub together then we could iron out problems much more quickly, with fewer misunderstandings. We all have different reasons for coming on here, and Leo is not right in saying that all we have in common is being Hornets - it's deeper than that. I left Watford at the age of 15 (not entirely through choice) over 40 years ago and communicating with people on here is also some kind of thread to my home town (because everyone on here has some connection to it) - it's also a way for me of keeping in touch with my own language (which I rarely use otherwise). But, there are memories of my youth on these pages - and, who knows, maybe old school friends ? We should remember what brings us here and not what separates us.
Andy, I also would be very unhappy if you leave. There are many things going on in our lives, some which we feel we can share, other things which we don't. As I said in an earlier post I have found out what I believe in and am happy with it, but despite the views expressed here which made me re-examine my thoughts, I have not changed my views. I did find that some people expressed themselves as a newly converted fundamentalist Christian would, with a zeal that they would wish others to accept. Just because others have different views of life I feel secure where I am, yet will listen to them and decide if anything has been said to make me change my mind. I became fed up with the thread because having examined many aspects of faith, we just had started to go over the same ground again. Probably not much more could be said. There are certain areas that I don't wish to go in to on here simply because I know that some people have been touched by them and I would prefer to remain silent rather than upset them. Discussion in the written form is far more difficult than face to face.
Yep - please come back Andy and thank you OFH for more or less summing up my views more eloquently than I could ever hope.
Andy, please reconsider, if you go, who the hell am I going to talk to at 5 in the morning Have a short break if you must, then take a deep breath and say, I am who I am, that's the man we want back and I can assure you, Leo is horrified that you have taken his words in a manner that they were not intended!
Hello Andy , being a newbie to this forum site , I have not had time to get to know folk on here . But have been on differing forum sites in the past . Some serious minded historical research based sites and other general sites . My old school site ended up as a war zone , it got very messy . We all know the main trouble with text based communication .Messages get misinterpreted . Plus there is no face to face contact ,so we are unable to know if we have gone too far . etc etc . I know all about stress within my own life , been to breaking point several times over the years ...Being human can be bloody difficult , we are all ultimately in the same boat . I hope you stay on board . Jim
