Didnt Dobbie finish last season with a grand total of 11 goals ?? or am i missing something ?

Jason scotland scored for fun in the ccc and couldn't hack prem standard and he is/was twice the player stephen dobbie is, there seems to be a touch of the old rose tinted specs again about this player, personally i dont see the issue as i think buck is looking at better players to fill that roll for prem football and he has probably looked at dobbies game and decided it isnt up to standard, it probably has nothing to do with his atcking play but probably more the defensive side of the game.

As stated once before, managers and coaches see weaknesses in players that you and me would never see .

His contribution was immense last season. You don't mention his many assists playing in behind some pretty ordinary front men at times. Remember our winger was the top scorer with him second.

Had he not been the outstanding player over the three games (Forest away and home) and at the Final (scoring one and making another) we wouldn't be where we are now. That's a fact, not an opinion.

Rose tinted specs maybe but we shouldn't apologise for that.

I say again: if he's 'not up to standard' then sell him whilst we can. Cash in. Why did Rodgers say "We don't want to lose our best players and Stephen is one of them?"

Going over old ground now and we'll never agree on it.

Yes but all that was last season, he made a big contribution no doubt about it, but we are talking now about our next season in the premier league, this is going to be our hardest test because we must do it with new players and without some who will go on to other clubs.

I am sorry but I don't think dobbie is going to fit into our team next season, he I think will go onto another team as he will not accept a role like he has now, and I don't blame him. He is under contract so I can see him going as part of a swap deal for another player.

Fair points KJ but having looked at some of his contributions just the other day i have to say that alot of his goals and assists just wouldn't happen in the premier league im afraid to say.

I agree though that we are goin gover old ground , we all agree his contribution was immense last season and he has always been a favourite here, hopefully there may be a future for him with us but if there isnt then i hope he does well wherever he goes <ok>

scotland was good at poaching goals for us but was not good enough for premiership football. the trouble with scotland was he was not mobile enough and a bit lazy. now if we could get someone with scotlands goal instinct who can twist and turn and lose his marker then we will find our right striker for next season. play danny in midfield or if brendan decides to play two strikers then he can play there......we cannot go on using danny on his own in the hope he will do the buisiness......

He has Dai, can't you see that? He's one of the top scoring English strikers in the Premier League! How much do you want us to spend on this striker, and who is he?! Ok he's gone on long spells without scoring but you can't argue with the return on £3.5mil, and there's no reason to think he'll do anything other than improve the longer he's at the club.

come on scott we cant go on like that or we will be relegated before next xmas. play danny as our main striker next season and we can forget about staying up and thats the reality of the situation, we need a much better front man without any shadow of doubt....brendan knows that too...

Err, what? Why do you say that? Surely our team will always improve, and if that happens, we'd finish higher than this season? Is this "relegated before christmas" thing like when you said we wouldn't get promoted under Jenkins?

Basically, what your saying here Dai, is that our Premier League existance relies only on one man, Danny Graham. There are 11 players on that field, 10 of which could help out by scoring more goals. You don't seem to critisize Dyer, Routledge, Allen, Britton, how many goals have they scored? Without Graham, we would have been relegated. This is a team game.

If Torres' one goal was worth £50million, what does that make Danny Graham's 10 goals?

P.s. Who would you like brought in? Andy Carroll, Torres? Or another £35million + player who will tell all of our players not to worry about scoring, because he wil score ALL of our goals.

Danny Graham has done a brilliant job in his first season, and it's only you who can't see it.

without siggs we would have been relegated its as plain and as simple as that. if we did not have siggs and had to rely on danny for his goals then we would have a long wait..He is absolutely useless as he have proved all by himself, and he cant play or will never be able to play the main striker...the facts are there for all to see....anyone will score now and again but if danny is the best we have got next season then there wont be much of a hope of staying up and will be relegated by xmas.....hopefully we will get a far better striker and move danny to the midfield......its like shearer says "it does not matter how much work the striker puts in, if he cant score the goals that a main striker should then you have to find a striker that can score......your in cuckoo land if you think danny is a good lone striker as his record shows he is nowhere good enough....

If we didn't have graham, we would have been relegated.

As I stated, how come you don't have an issue with the fact our other team members havnt contributed much in the goals department?

    .....and silence reigns. <ok>

Sorry, but some of us have to put up with enough on here with sarcasm and stupidity without outright aggression and threats of violence from the likes of him. He rarely talks football. That's the point.

yes danny has played the best he can ...that is not the issue, the issue is we play a ONE striker system and if he cant score then what is the point of playing him there. thats what im saying. he is the best we have got and its clear that if we are to continue playing the lone striker system then we are going to have to find a striker much better than danny.....its a no brainer, we need to score goals from that position on a more regular basis than danny can give us.....shearer is spot on....
