Yes all wages have gone up, that is why there has been a lot of player contract extensions, I woul think that Dobbie will be on about £15k-£20k a week, that is more than most championship clubs can afford on a single player imo

Dont see the sense in him going on loan. I could understand the circumstances under sousa,he didnt fit his plan and the board needed to Get money in to finance other options,so a Loan was the best option.
I have always rated him and i Think rodgers does too, its just that rodgers prefers the pace of routeledge atm .

Dobbie Will have a chance soon enough but as ive posted before on articles of mine i Think buck has his favourites and jacks his own signings in a 50/50 situation.

Money should not be a problem for us, so we shouldnt need to lighten the wage Bill unless There is planned signings on the horizon in january.

Having said that our squad is small so any first team player out will leave us thinner on the ground!

not being one of my stupid questions as referred to, what sort of increase would the players have received percentage wise?

Nobody beyond the club and players know that, the word is £25k a week is the maximum that players are on, which is over a million a year. Not a fortune by some standards but our players are within a framework that the club won't break.

I would be amazed if any of our boys are on 25k a week . Of the top earners i would say its only Ash,Sinclair, Graham,Routledge and 1 or 2 more who would be on the top rate . I think Blackpools top rate last year was 10-12k a week if i remember correctly ,seem to recall Hollaway saying that its hard to get the right players for that kind of wage bracket. I think the swans players would be on higher than that though . Im guessing somewhere in the middle of above mentioned figures with big bonuses thrown in if we acheive our target of survival .

No we wouldn't have but Man City didn't want him and we saved them a bit on what they would have ended up paying anyway. But unlike Man City you appear to want to keep your player but are you going to be able to supply his need for first team football? He's not going to want to hand in a tranfers request and lose his higher wages but wants to play so loan seems the perfect option for him. And if you do get relegated (I think you have a good chance of staying up) then he will become a first team player again :) As you see this year Bellamy wasn't willing to take the (large) pay cut to play for us (not that I blame him) and I doubt Dobbie will want to either
And for a players wages the promotion increase is usually between 10 and 20 percent :D

lets see how dobbie feels in about 6 more games, if he is left on the bench without having a game then he will want to go out on loan.....

The loan window will be closed by then, so no chance in going out on loan, plus would he take a 50% pay cut going there ? Thought not we'd have to pay the rest, which will make no sense ! He is under contract with us for another 2 years so he is not going anywhere!

why would he be taking a pay cut.......he will still be a Swansea player, there are teams in the championship that pay the same wage as us and a couple who actually pay more....

We don't know. But Dobbie came up with us having stepped up a big level already from Queen of the South. Routledge has Prem experience, came from the Toon and is a Rodgers signing. I'd be surprised if he's not earning more than Dobbie.

Stephen Dobbie : Martinez's lost gem ! . He got lost in Sousa's " Park The Bus " defensive approach & never had a chance . Gets lent out to Blackpool & his 5 goals in 6 starts (13 subs ) & plays a part in Blackpool's promotion . Sousa out , Rodgers in . Rodgers 's " Move That Bus " approach frees Dobbie to play the way Martinez brought him in to play & Stephen answers the call with 11 goals in 26 starts (18 subs ) , with a few of those " Class Goals " coming in the playoffs to get us promoted . That's 16 goals in 32 starts ( 31 subs ) between his time at Blackpool & his first season under Buck , helping both Blackpool & Swansea to get promoted to " The Premier League " . Dobbie needs minutes to recapture his form & be that " Sniper " again that Roberto knew he could be .

Dobbie is definitely off the pace when he comes on as sub. I think he can be very effective, but he is not going to adjust without game time and it looks like he is not going to get game time until he looks more up to the pace. Only an injury to Routledge is going to give him that opportunity. Dobbie will score goals if given the chance.

As for yesterday ... Quite frankly I prefer Allen and Gower to Allen and Britton. Gower is just more creative offensively and much better with the dead ball.
