H, you have covered my points, especially about the kids they will not survive the winter, you have to nurture them feed them cajole them bring them on slowly. One at a time noy rush them through, last year we had no strength or cover in any position hence the boys were used. Like them or loath them we have the cover this year!
kids will survive the winter because were not playing them were farming them out! yeovil and Brentford are loving us! some kids are playing for their countries and doing ok yet here not getting a look in ! kids go skiing etc in very rough conditions here to the talented ones it isnt a problem ! I think this winter excuse is very weak!
Al honestly tell me what you saw tonight is worth spending another few hundred pounds to come and see! Has there been improvement in the last couple of weeks!
I would leave coming across for a couple of months, wait till we are in mid table and laughing about the early season!
we will see I pray you are right , will be at donny to see a progress report ! at cost to me I can ill afford , But I do take the critique of actually being there seriously ! Maybe I was so excited on seeing H and the troops that I didnt see the game ! I will go to donny on my own and give it 110% attention! Hopefully I will see some sort of improvement!
If they play like they can, and have for the first 7 or so games of the season..then even if they lose you'd better be honest!
My feeling is to give him a bit more time. Not sure of fixtures after Hull and Posh but maybe give four games from now. I agree with some others that the main issue is up front. We have had some chances the last few weeks but just don't put the ball in the net. From the reports on our strikers it seems like Iwelumo has been a complete mistake, Marvin has lost his way, and the jury is still out on Garner, but if he doesn't score soon the verdict will be guilty! Where are these goals going to come from to dig us out of this hole?
I am always intrigued by long distance assertions of 'Blind panic' and 'panicky outbursts' when it's the evidence that leads the debate. I didn't see or listen to the game last night so wont express a view but post this from the match report: "Watford were disappointing and rarely threatened, with Sean Dyche's side only looking dangerous on a handful of occasions from set-pieces." "Jonathan Hogg came closest for the Hertfordshire club when his thunderous volley from the edge of the area was pushed over the crossbar by Kasper Schmeichel with four minutes remaining." I'm content to give it some time but the worst decision is the one that's made too late.
Apart, possibly, from the one that's made too early (and in panic). But apart from that, what actually constitutes 'too late' is my bone of contention. Whilst a quarter way through the season is far too early IMO, 'too late' would be after the half way point - considering that the season lasts for 46 games. As to your issue with "long distance assertions of 'Blind panic' and 'panicky outbursts' when it's the evidence that leads the debate" - that works both ways. I'm intrigued too when they come from someone who's even further away than I am.
Agree with that up to a point, wonder what the thinking was at Bristol City and whether the early change there will turn it around for them. not even sure if they have appointed anyone but I had read some Scottish guy was in the frame. The judgement for the timing of any critical decision regarding our boy will rest with the owner and Board and I still have faith while GT is around although the amateur thread put across a popular view. Don't get cold up there in Granite land
My fear is that if we give Dyche half a season or whatever then he may make it far too hard for the new manage to repair. I will still support Dyche because he is still the manager but he is way out of his depth. I don't think the squads as bad as its made out to be, just no tatics, game plan or anything.
I think that Bristol are a different case from us - Keith Millen wasn't 'performing' there in the latter part of last season, so he's had more time to turn things around - but couldn't, so had to go. I suspect that SD may suffer a similar fate but does need the opportunity to turn things around. By all accounts there was one positive last night - The Prince. if he can build on that, with the likes of Whichelow or Massey or Murray then who knows........... I do think that he needs to ditch Iwelumo - was totally shocked when he signed. Try Deeney up front, or even Assombalonga. I'd also drop Lloyd - bring back Hodson who looked quite handy as an attacking full back for NI. Too late to avoid the cold up here - had our first snow yesterday & it's bitter outside, even if it is all sun & blue skies.
Not at left back - no. The poor kid was out of position, out of depth - why MM persisted I'll never know. But in his correct position - a different story.
I hate to say this but I would rather have Thompson than Hodson, but Doyley gets my vote all day long at RB!
