Here's an interesting fact: In the last 7 years in L2, the team that is top on 2nd Jan has always been promoted except for 2005-2006, when Wycombe dropped to the play-offs and lost

Another statistic for you, that on 22 games and 45 points in the last 10 seasons, so that includes before the current structure, I currently know of only three teams that failed to gain automatic promotion from 30 teams, within the auto position at that stage?

I believe those teams to be Southend, Oxford and as you rightly mention Wycombe, who were the only one of those three to hit top spot at that stage.

While this is all very encouraging nothing will be given to us. Only continued hard work, team work and a little luck at times will see us promoted. Let's not count our chickens and all that. Most important game this season is fast approaching (the next one) and when that's done it'll be Barnet and so on etc etc.

Let's enjoy being top of the league but we've got keep our eyes on the prize.
