Aussie. thats right. As I said Larsson, Gardener and Sess can become a 4 man attack with Gyan, safe in the knowledge Catts and Colback are patrolling the central positions behind them. It means the full backs can defend first and support later.
4-5-1 is easily made 4-2-3-1 and back again. We will have to work hard and keep up our concentration levels but that team will be hard to break down.

We should go for a point, try for a win but be focused on not losing. A point next Saturday and 3 the following one , would be an excellent start to our 2011/12 campaign IMO. A minumum of 15 points from our opening 10 fixtures is my target.

no no no no, he's a r/w, but everyone keeps playing him c/m, and that just aint his position.

    r/w you've got a helluva player, c/m you've got a waste of time.

Well I'd usually agree with you there, but he did an interview with LFC TV and said if he had to pick anywhere to play it'd be CM making me think that's what he sees himself as. I don't think he'll get a run out as CM though, we have enough CMs and not enough RWs so it'd make sense to put him on the RW.

Agree completely. In my opinion it is more important to come away with a point from this game than to play great football, put up a fight but then capitulate in the last ten minutes like usual. A point at Anfield and the boys should be confident enough to put the mags to the sword a week later.

Sorry Liverbird but he just looks older. If this is the face of a 33 year old I've still got a chance at 46. His paper round was obviously a bloody hard one. Lol

You have leaked a lot of goals against poor teams though (Hull in particular) which must be worrying? Henderson is a decent young kid and we ALL know up here he isn't a central midfielder and the flanks are his only position but Bruce just couldn't see it. We were screaming for 2 years for him to be used on the wings, which is where he rose to prominence in the youths and reserves.

Do you all expect a win next week? Or has Kenny merely papered over the cracks from earlier on in the season? Suarez is world class and I'm pleased he isn't playing but my favourite Kopite is Kuyt. I think he is a terrific footballer and pro. Would love to have him playing for us.

this does suprise me, as i think a vast majority on here will tell you he's ****e in the middle, and totally wasted.

like you say, with gerrard and adam, he aint gonna get to play in the middle, and that's good for him and your team.

    r/w and i think you've got a cracking player.

No disrespect to Sunderland, but I do expect a win. Mainly because it's at Anfield and after the Valencia result I feel everyone will be ready to kick start the season.

I think Kenny has completed reformed the side, not just the players but the way we play seems completely different too. It's much slicker, very high tempo and it's all about defending high up the pitch (which is why we let in so many goals, the defenders just weren't use to it.. also we used Soto for most games).

Downing has already made an immediate impact, Valencia couldn't cope with him. Aquilani should get a start, and finally everyone will see just how good he is!

Gerrard won't start, but Suarez might start... still not sure if he'll be ready considering he's only just come back from a break.

I'm not worrying about the results pre-season, we made too many changes to actually see any particular problems. It was literally 22 players from the squad a game, and when you've got players like Wisdom and Sama (defenders) making their debuts in extremely hot countries with players they've never played with before, it's not surprising we let in 15 goals.

Good luck for the season, just not against us ;).

Liverpool will have a much better season this year but I dont see a top 4 side just yet. Utd, City, Arsenal and Chelsea will still be the top 4 for me with Spurs, Liverpool and maybe 4 or 5 other clubs fighting for the top 6 places.

If we can stay fit, a top 10 place will be a good shout. If we can stay fit and bring in a left sided attacking player and maybe another experienced striker, top 8 and even a frighteners for Spurs and your lot but realistically, I'd settle for a comfortable 8th and a good cup run.

I hope Jordan does well and I am a big fan of the lad. All the best kidda (but likewise not next week Lol)
