Footballers need to have a shot if they are going to score a goal. I'm not sure how he'd manage to score 8 goals without having a shot...
He just looked a bit knackered, like Trippier and Almirion. Considering how tired most of them looked, a one nil win is decent. Joelinton is a tank and doesn't get tired, but everyone else needs a good rest before next week.
But you can have more shots than goals you score It's a bit harsh to include the games where he was 18/19 ys old and coming off the bench, that make up more than 25 League games and 30 none League games
Yes, Moussa Sissoko is evidence of that.... Just seems an odd choice, Everton are dire and most of their fans seem to dislike Gordon. I'm hardly seeing this as some huge coup, especially with the huge price they've put on him. He really hasn't seemed all that when I've seen him.
We gave the ball away far too many times yesterday. Too many wayward passes. Delighted with the win, let's finish this lot off next week. I'd like to see them relegated this season as well.
There’s plenty other teams I’d rather down than Saints… Everton, West Ham, Leicester never have a good word to say about us either.
What a win, could and should have been so much more though and it's a bit of a worry how many opportunities we are wasting atm. Apart from that 10 clean sheets in a row and saw a stat from bet365 earlier of the back 5 playing together: • 19 matches • 12 wins • 7 draws • 0 defeats • 13 clean sheets • Over 900 consecutive minutes without conceding Ridiculous! Only real negative is all of them look shot now! ASM and Isak for me must start next week - Southampton have to attack and will leave spaces in behind for those two to exploit and, as said yesterday, you could rest Willock and Miggy and play ASM and Isak either side of Wilson with Joe, Bruno and Longstaff in the middle and bring off one of the middle players and Wilson at 60mins to rest them and move Isak up top. Miggy looked battered last night, the one where he gave up chasing with 20 yards left told me everything I needed to know about his energy levels, guy's given everything and is burnt out - usually he'll chase it until its gone but last night he couldn't. Think the squad actually looks quite strong once everyone is fit and rotation shouldn't be an issue! Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn, Longstaff, Bruno, Willock, Almiron, Joelinton, Wilson Dubravka, Krafth, Manquillo, Target, Shelvey, Anderson, ASM, Isak - that's 8 ok to decent options off the bench On to the home leg and Southampton need to score - but we don't concede many and Southampton need 2 now so they will have to play forwards and get men bombing on hopefully leaving spaces for our attackers.
Worst game for us I think, but still light years ahead of the likes of Lascelles Also worst defensive performance as a whole in ages - got pulled around all over the place. Need to get back to the compact units we have regularly
Was just sloppy. Like we were trying to bring an arrogance back that isn't needed. We have completed exactly half of what's required - 20 cup finals to go, we need to treat every match with aggression and intensity. The passing from, well, all of them was at times dreadful and it's sapping because we scramble to cover the mistakes.
Isn't that the truth. Until Isak came on, at no point did I think we'd score. Well, apart from Joelinton's absurd miss.
Callum Wilson looked shot last night. It's concerning, he just seemed so slow. Maybe he just needs a rest. Isak and ASM are waiting. And it appears that no-one can shoot at the moment. Our management must be clearly aware of this, so I expect a response.
but he’s still the most creative player in the PL statistically speaking. I’d suggest it’s ****s not getting on the end of his creations more than owt. Look at him t this way… if shearer was in his prime now… how many assists would Tripps have? It’s like sticking a XR3i spoiler on a lambo and expecting to t to perform better.. our strikers are the XR3i.
