Star Player ! - Well - it wasn't Ainsworth.......... and I'm not sorry if anyone is upset by my acrimony.
For the 2nd week running, Ainsworth takes off Dack - when he was the only one in the 2nd half trying to be 'progressive' and trying to create opportunities to go forward...... Dack was taken off and Gills lost any sense of knowing what to do with the ball.. The same thing happened at Colchester last week - at a time when Gills began to show some glimmer of hope of achieving a win.
Today, McCleary also got substituted about the same time as Dack --- both players were showing some quality.... Afterwards .... well - you saw what happened.
In recent weeks Ainsworth has begun to follow his predecessors - in finding excuses for poor performances before the game..... usually against lower placed sides... Today's doom was predicted by Ainsworth ! He blames it on having to rip up his notes because Barrow sacked their manager a few days ago.... Somehow Ainsworth was trying to suggest that the occurrence was going to be devastating for The Gills.......... Hey, Mr. Ainsworth, I bet it wasn't funny for Barrow FC, their players and fans.
I understand that Gills are not as good as some people would like (( including me )), but, it was insulting to the fans that Ainsworth allowed the players simply sit back and not engage with any intensity after going 2-0 up.... I could tell - long before half time that we'd be lucky to get one point out of the game......................... and yet, 2-0 should easily be defended..... It takes 100% commitment and concentration.... a bit like the effort I'm putting into this post.

All of these are based purely on the first half as apart from Bradley until he was taken off were awful.
1 Bradley Dack a class above every other player.
2. Armani Little great first half was every where on the pitch.
3, Travis Akemanah sorry for spelling of surname looked good winning all in the air and a great pass to set up goal .
Eithnan Coleman had a great first half and Aaron Rowe,s goal was a great solo effort.

So disappointing that we just capitulated second half.

It's how to defend a 2 goal lead .............. and you won't need any notes to rip up !
Just watched Forest v Spurs....Forest won 3-0 (( and deservedly so. ))...
Forget that Forest were helped by some awful play from Spurs.... When Forest were 2-0 up they never took a step backwards - always looking to go forward -- and when not in possession of the ball, they never let the Spurs players a second of peace.......... Can I suggest that, tomorrow morning, Mr. Ainsworth gives the Gills players a viewing of the game and then say '' That's how you defend a 2 goal lead - you go on to score more ''
