    Why? Appart from Barmby what has changed, there are still people in the background from years ago, unless Im mistaken dont we still have:
    Neil Mann
    Linton Brown
    Billy Russell
    and probably others

    We all know (or think) they will have slim to no influence but Id expect that to be the case at most clubs

    Stan Ternant is a scout that Steve Bruce has used for ages. At least if he is out scouting he is nowhere near the club.

    I was going to put something on similar lines. Ternent managed us a long time ago. Since then he has been a scout for Bruce at Birmingham, Wigan and Sunderland. Would fans prefer Bruce to bring in someone he didn't know and trust, but who hadn't said derogatory comments about the city in their autobiography?
