I m sure this may well be right...at least I hope he is left with just a vestigial feeling that he was somewhere where he was loved... Money must have been raised, and his family who were there will know how much we love Stan Finally respect to the Bournmouth fans.....who stood and clapped before, and at 10 minutes and at half time... Stan was taken over to see them and he was welcomed as one of their own...major respect and thank you
A good day yesterday in The Conn. Met some old faces. 4 Man City supporters come down from Manchester with Man City Stan Bowles shirts on, wished I took a photo of them. They said they love Stan and 1of the blokes even had a Stan tattoo.
It's definitely a worry although I thought we looked tidy for first 20 mins. We are really lacking in any real leaders on the pitch though, do we even have a player over 30? I'd say all of our players will put in a good shift but we are so guileless, no one seems to know what to do when we have the ball. No matter who we play against our one tactic seems to be to let them have the ball but by the time we get it back we are so deep there are no options other than hoof it to nowhere. Between the tactical issues and a lack of experienced players who can really impose themselves on a game I do fear what we will see this season. Optimistic is my usual default but it's hard to see past the season being all about a fight for survival at the moment.
I saw on the Offish that they are selling shirts with 10 #justforstan on the back for a slight discount. Not sure if any of the proceeds go to his fund, anyone know? Might have been better to charge full price with a clear donation. If you are quite petite you can get a youth shirt without panda **** on the front. Even better they had classic 75/76 shirts 100% cotton. With 10 on the back. I can't find the links to either of these now.
Buy a kit from Amazon for a fiver, do it yourself, and donate the difference yourself. Best way to be sure what gets donated... http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...6G2IIC&usg=AFQjCNEmxEbvr4GgrpB0hQ7NDuu5OUK3XA
Agree with all that. Smith looked overweight and was incredibly slow. Didn't even manage to win many headers. I think the starting eleven were first choice of those fit and how Smith made that line up I don't know. His presence encourages us to play a certain way - a bad, bad way - and we looked better after he went off. Goss wasn't on long but he looked composed and I did briefly wonder whether Ollie was thinking of converting him to being a ball playing CB, a la Rio Ferdinand. Fortunately, he didn't have to make a tackle or a header so that mystery may remain unanswered!
You would have to think that bringing Goss on at CB in our last friendly before the season starts means that Holloway believes he can play there in competitive games. Perhaps he will want him to play the role that Hall played in a few games last year where would he alternate between CB and CDM.
Ned isn't perfect but I don't see how we as fans can judge his leadership qualities. He's a very bright guy who tries to lead by example as far as I can see. Sometimes he's just bad but I'd never question his mentality.
Surely that is assuming that Ollie has the first ****ing idea about what he's doing? Have to say I'm a little worried about the Reading game. Why did I decide to go again?
It was quieter yesterday and we had RowA tickets. Roller noticed Ned isn'yt that quiet...he talks all the time. He is a lot beeter than I gave him credit for... Not a "Joey Barton" shouty type...but beginning to believe ...he is a captain I apologise
He should start each game with a bloodied bandage on his head screaming the national anthem. Only then can he be declared a leader of men.
