    I agree with TIMK .
A new stadium without a good overall business and football plan is a recipe for disaster.
As fans I think we will need to be prepared to go backwards to go forwards somewhat with a new stadium, which doesn't generally sit well with football fans of any club. Especially when a new stadium is generally felt to bring in a new prosperous era with a future full of glory.

Its really hard to name a team that's gone to a new stadium and done better in the short to medium term.
A new stadium has often been met by a relegation or receivership soon after.

    Proceed with caution.........

I just heard some possibly very signficant news about the potential availability of a site for the new stadium...

It's just been announced that the BBC and BBC Worldwide will be completely exiting their White City site when their lease runs out in 2014, as part of their wider sale of Television Centre just down the road. Both sites have been sold to the developer Stanhope. This is the first time it has been announced that the White City site is also being exited.

As many of you know, the "Media Village" offices on the White City plot occupy the site of the old White City Stadium, and lies at the junction of Wood Lane and South Africa Road. With the Unigate site being sold off to property developers, a more perfect location for a new stadium you could not wish to find...

Remember, you heard it here first! Should I be getting excited!?

You have it slightly wrong, the Media Village is the BBC Worldwide plot on the far side of the Westway by the on ramp from Wood Lane. The building on the old White City site is the BBC News building, and that I believe isn't going anywhere.

No, I haven't got it wrong. The Media Village is absolutely on the old White City site. There's even an enormous plaque commemorating the fact. I should know, I work there. The site you're thinking of is the old BBC Worldwide site called Woodlands. That was sold off 4 years ago.

Yes, there's a Tescos Metro on the side, which faces a small green and boarded off disused car park.

Maybe so! Hope its true. It'd be nice if they told the fans though, and not just miscellaneous commentators!
