Make it all green. Call it the "Giant Jewel of the north east."

I do think people are expecting a tad much too soon, but in time I can see them digging deep.. I wouldnt expect anything crazy until they get up there.

Lol some people are saying "don't go crazy, i think youll probably be on par with Wolves or Leicester"

That is an astronomical improvement for us, I've dreamt of being as good as Leicester. I dont think we will be a Man City but, top ten? Top 8 contenders. Yes.

Exactly. Simply put, the reason Everton are sour over this is because now we are a rival.

indeed i was actually going to mention that.. the man u fans etc will be pleased for us until we start threatening their aims

The clubs with the ultra left wing fans too, Saints, Brighton. Theyll protest against our owners.

good because we will enjoy beating them and if they ever show signs of improving we can take away their new heroes

Some Everton fans might be sour now because of jealousy that we'll be allowed to achieve, and use the resources that our club can generate to play to our potential. They'll need to get used to looking up the table to us! That's how it was pre-Ashley.

I can remember going to Goodison to see us play Everton in the Cup in 1995. Having a pre match meal at MacDonalds (I was with my 10yo son) and chatting with three Everton fans. At the end I recall saying “let the best team win” and all three responded saying no because they wanted Everton to win. Said slightly tongue in cheek but partly because we were the better team.

As an aside, in true Newcastle style we under performed and lost 1-0.

I don't buy into that idea of turning the ground 90 degrees. So the only realistic sizeable expansion of the ground would involve purchasing the land at Strawberry Place and extending the Gallowgate.
If a move to a new home was to be considered, it'd have to be central. The only central site I can think of is the soon-to-be-demolished Arena, which would be plausible and has decent infrastrucure.
From a romantic point of view I'd want to remain at St.James, but a move would better enhance the city - with an extendended Leazes Park and a massive regeneration of Skinnerburn/Scotswood.

What about relocating on the metro line to the airport in a big field somewhere to build a 70,000 seater multi sports complex like Eastlands and then selling SJP?
With improved links, a monorail/pod system plus the metro it could be really accessible.

I'd be happy with that.. St james' is Fukin cursed... Soon as we get out we'll win something mark my words..

He was a legend in the mid 70’s!
I remember one game against Man Utd, they had the right hand side of the Gallowgate end. He stood on the fence separating the fans for a few seconds, then dived in amongst them. A minute later he was getting took out along the cinder track by the police towards the Leazes End. The whole of the Leazes end were sing “Reagan, Reagan”. He looked proud as punch!

remember that as well
got nicked at almost every home match
even if he did nowt , the coppers would nick him to stop him doing something <laugh>

I remember going to the ground as a kid and there was always someone at the home games who would do a very loud and random high pitched kinda scream for a good few seconds. Anyone remember this and what the hell it was all about?
