A club the size of Arsenal with the infrastructure that is in place, I have said time and time again that Arsenal are a ****ing sleeping GIANT. But Arsenal will never realize their potential as long as the ball and chain known as Wenger just drags you down. Band together, use some ****ing fan power to force this old relic out for christ sake.
Any new manager will also need to be given higher expectations than AW is set. So the manager isn't the only problem... We have a board more concerned with balance sheets than ambition on the pitch and that needs adjusting too.
What hurts the most over the last ten years is the lack of change. Consistency can sometimes be a bad thing when it doesn't lead to development. The stagnation and wasted opportunity are what really makes me most depressed. For sure no-one expects to win everything every season. But we do expect to see a board and manager, and a team hungry for winning instead of happy to accept the mediocre results season after season.
Mediocre? Like it or not, finishing in the top 4 and qualifying for the CL is not mediocre. Mid table is mediocre.
Ordinarily top 4 would be fine, for most clubs. But we are supposed to be better than most, right? Or are we not. I am actually not sure anymore.
Great monetarily, but not great on the pitch. We've not progressed much in either the Premiership or Champions League in many years. But we've steadily increased revenues year in year out. If there was a cup for making a great profit then we'd have a few in the cabinet, but the last time i checked, it was football we were following and not shareholder dividends. Though I would be mega happy if I had shares in Arsenal....
This only makes sense if the 20 clubs in the premier league had the same resources and same expectations. They don't. Therefore this comment is complete rot as you're taking no context into account. If Bayern finished 3rd in the Bundesliga and got KO'd out of the CL would you say it was still impressive simply because they weren't finishing mid-table which is the mid-point of the league they were in? Rubbish. Mid table for a club like Bournemouth would be a great achievement, not mediocre. Not challenging for the league or the CL for a decade for a club like Arsenal is mediocre. What Arsenal do is the bare minimum of what should be expected of a club our size and resources. The fact we never go above that makes what AW has achieved mediocre. Then again, it once again comes down to standards of expectation. If you think what we do is impressive for the resources we have available to us, then good on you. Just don't get so worked up when others don't have as low standards are you.
Where is piskie with his positive spin job lol hilarious all the bs him and wenger have spouted comes crashing down
The spin jobbers always put our bottle jobs due to have less financial clout than the big boys, so what excuse is there to finish behind Spurs and Leicester, and what excuse really to finish behind Spurs in the grand scheme of things? It's another complete low for this club brought to us courtesy of Wenger. What's worst is the players don't give a ****, they won't be ashamed, embarrassed, they don't care, they have let us down time and time again, and this will be just another kick to our face from these overpaid diva **** wits more interested in hair styles, selfies, and waxing their asses. If I was as useless as Walcott and making more than 100k a week, why would I care? I'd be laughing all the way to the bank.
Ok, now stick with that and stop insisting other clubs that have ambitions (relative to their current standing and size!!!!) would want your tired old dinosaur of a manager.
I think many need to be shown the door, Walcott, Wilshere, Ramsey if we get a good offer, Giroud, OXO, Arteta, Rosicky, so much deadwood in this side.
