So....Chavs vs spuds soon. Who do we want to win? On the one hand we want the spuds to win to secure 4th. but I think we can get 3rd so we want the chavs to win? or maybe a draw in that case?

I'ts happening. Dont worry, I still think you'll push Chelsea for fourth place but it will be close. :p

You have the same problem some of our previous squads have had.. good technical players but a lack of real characters.
Gallas, Van der Vaart, Adebayor, Defoe etc.. are not the kind of guys you want in your squad when things are going badly.

Sorry to be a killjoy, but this is only worth celebrating if Arsenal make 3rd/4th, it would take a choke of massive proportions for Tottenham to finish 6th and I don't see it happening but finishing 5th ahead of them would be a disaster IMO and nothing to celebrate.
    I'll happily take 4th with them 3rd...

    I find that staggering.
How can it be better for Arsenal FC if we're playing Thursday night football next season ?

  12. Have to pull out all the stops for 3rd place.

4th will do but it means having to qualify for the group stages and as one knows, in footie nothing is guaranteed.

Agreed. I know only 3 italian sides are in the champions league next year. Looks like Napoli might get 3rd in their league this year. So we could draw them for a place in the group stages <wah>

As much as I want to see us finish above Spurs, I find it absolutely ludicrous that finishing outside of the top 4 would be acceptable, simply to to satisfy the need to finish above them.

I'd rather finish top 4, with spurs in 3rd, than finish 5th with spurs in 6th. it's better for us in the long run. CL football means we keep RvP.

Absolutely. There's no good that that can come from finishing outside of the top 4, regardless of where the spuds finish.
