As one of the lads in the office said - he's just about got the fans on-side again (in some respects) then he does this!! He obviously doesn't want to be liked by them
This is a purely commercial decision , all sentiment has been cast aside. But M.A. is a businessman , and a very good one at that. Sentiment and history have no place in his world. Now if M.A gives all that extra revenue the the manager to spend on better players , and those players bring the club success , nobody will give a monkeys what the stadium is called. To the fans it will always be S.J.P nomatter which corporate giant holds the naming rights. If we could sell the naming rights to the S.o.L for megabucks and bring in fantastic players , I would be overjoyed. I wouldn't care if they call it the Ann Summers Big Fluffy Dildo Arena, if I could watch Messi running around in a red and white striped shirt.
What has he done with the Andy Carrol money? And I was under the impression Sports Direct was Ashleys company.
I have no idea what happened the the Carroll money. Was it promised to the manager for players ? Or did it disappear into M.As bank account. You have to admit that £35 mill for A.C. was a stunning piece of business. The point I was making that IF the naming rights money was re-invested in the team , the stadium name wouldn't matter if you were in with a chance to watch Champions League football.
I understood your point. But my point is that it costs money to get/stay there and Ashleys tenure has been more about generating sales and self promotion.
Can we not just give Agent Ashley a mackem knighthood for his 5th columnist work on enemy territory? No one person has done more to heap utter misery on these daft barcodes twats than he has in recent years. I reckon he isn't finished yet either. Time to start and undermine their good start Mike. It's all yours.
