I actually feel quite negative about Swansea ATM but let's not get over dramatic now! We have been getting point's from most of the teams we should (Cardiff being the only exception) we demolished WBA, Palace and Newcastle. Should have beaten Stoke and been unlucky in a few of our games. But we must put in the graft when it's required, which we are not ATM! What I think is we're getting sussed out where most teams who play us now throw 11 men behind the ball then wait for the right moment to counter attack and we have no plan B to break it down! I am getting frustrated seeing us being narrow all the time! We have good wide players and it used to be our main strength. But I'm still optimistic of a formidable partnership of Bony and Michu! Just wish someone will kick them all up the arse! And would like to see the home fans support and get behind the players! Like where has the atmosphere gone??? Just as it is the managers job to motivate its also our job by singing as loud as we can!!
The thing is its not negative in the sense that you say sod this im not wasting my money on this crap. Its the club that is playing negative football is the problem and nothing is being done to change it. All we hear is plenty of excuses from laudrup and the players on what they must do to get back our fighting spirit in the media but it does not happen at a consistent level and a one off game like what we did against the toon is not getting things right....I have been blaming laudrup for a long time now and im justified in doing so as more and more are starting to agree with me. There is no excuse to keep on playing the way we do of dominating possession and the opposition having more shots on target than we do. the system is all wrong and laudrup keeps on playing that way and i have a fear that come the end of the season we will not have enough points to stay up...It gets harder from here not easier and we are a mess....
A point to move up to 10th place, and qualification for the Euro knockout stage in 4 days, is why everyone should start seeing the big picture. 11 years ago today we were 91st in the Football League. Think on.
Who cares about 11 years ago though. Its all about Here and now and the future. what went on is in the past is history and dwelling on the past won't solve things today...
Pgf what i would play is irrelevant, Its laudrup's job not mine and he gets well paid for it too.. I would get rid and appoint someone who will stick to what we do best and who can motivate the players and is not so stubborn to go back to how we use to play..That is what i would do..
Here and now and the future - Now - 10th in the Premier League Future - Last 32 of the Europa Cup To look forward to - Man City/Man U/Man U in the space of 11 days. It's tough to enjoy at the moment.
and so is everyone elses So who do you blame ?? Laudrup thats who..end of story, at least you understand that at last...
Blame? It's you who is dishing out the blame. Laudrup is trying to balance the team between playing in two competitions at the same time - not an easy feat as has been shown by Stoke and Newcastle in previous seasons. He has got us through to the knockout stage of the Europa Cup. He has got us lying in 10th position in the Premier League. For the next two months he can concentrate on the PL (with the FA Cup thrown) in and has a chance to re-inforce the Club in January. I'll leave you dish out the blame for Laudrups failures.
Dont give me that rubbish..You will still be defending him when we reach the point of no return and back to the championship... 6 points is nothing and will soon be wiped out with the games we have coming up if we keep on playing negative football... Mind you i dont think jinx will let that happen and will sack him if we continue the way we are....It would not surprise me to see laudrup gone in january and i wont shed a tear, He is not suited to our play and have ruined a winning formula that the previous managers all made us better including sousa....He has made us worse..
So if Laudrup isn't suited to us how do you explain us winning a cup and getting a higher position in the Prem than under your little Irish Demigod? Agreed PGF. Despite our disappointment at the way we've been playing we do need to look at where we are as well. But we've been lucky in Europe and the Prem and things have to change on the pitch before that luck runs out.
He has NOT made us worse. We have 19 points from 15 games. On that form we will have 48 points at the end of the season. Our style of play has changed - but so has Barcelonas!
God this board has become so depressing; have not posted lately as however positive I am feeling I just have to read a few posts to totally lose the will to live. Okay - we are not performing as we can of late, but at the onset of each season all we should realistically aspire to is survival - anything more is a bonus - last year it was the Capital One Cup - this year it is progressing in the Europa League. There is so much to be excited about, so many things to anticipate and enjoy. We will never be world beaters, but can take our little victories and enjoy them. Yes, I was there in the 'bad old days' but does that make me a better fan than the youngsters who have just started supporting us since our début in the EPL? Or those who just watch from the comfort of their own living room? No!! It just makes me older and someone who enjoys going to live matches - something I would continue to do if my beloved Swans slipped out of the Premier League - but that doesn't make me in any way better, or more of a fan, than anyone else! 'Plastic' is a term I abhor - it is just a stick to beat those who don't qualify for some arbitrary status set by 'fans' who see travelling to some God forsaken hole in the distant past as some badge of honour! Our 'stock' at the minute is very high, and of course we will attract people who do not fit the stereotype of fanatic. But this does not make them any less worthy. I am thoroughly enjoying our time in this league and will continue to do so, but this forum continues to detract from that enjoyment - it is one reason why I feel that I will soon stop visiting - I can do without the constant whining and point scoring. Life aint a 'bed of roses' peeps - we are still punching above our weight and doing quite well regardless of what is said on here. Can do without keyboard warriors and faux experts telling me what is 'wrong' with my team and its management. I approach supporting SCFC as a privilege rather than a chore - the ups are magnificent and the downs remind us that we have to work harder to maintain the level that we have worked so hard to attain. So goodbye guys and thanks for all the fish (as Douglas Adams would say) - I really don't need this ****!
Personally, I think our style of play has been disappointing at times - I put that purely down to Europe and key injuries (plus the Bony/Michu conundrum). When we have had to play well eg second half against Stoke and Newcastle we show we can still produce the goods. I am confident that over the next two months we will go on a reasonable run in the Prem - and hopefully look forward to a juicy tie in the Europa Cup.
