According to the press (yes, I know) We want £8m for him.

Don`t know whether it`s true or not but there`s a few of them chucking that figure about.

Probably just chucking out the amount we paid for him. Lazy journalists.

I'd want more than that for him, but as people have said in earlier posts. . . 'What has he done in the past 3 years' well he really hasn't been given a chance in my opinion. I know he thinks that he is better than he actually is but isn't that what all forwards mindset should be.

With Poyet coming in last year and working with him (and sending him out on loan twice) I think took him down a notch or two I have seen an improvement in his play. Give him his extra £20k a week that he reportedly wants and give him the game time he deserves.

What's he done to deserve a chance? When countless managers see nothing to warrant given him a first team place even when we've been really ****?

He hit a purple patch at exactly the right time. The bottom line is we just don`t know whether he can keep it going. I reckon Gus will give him plenty of chances but the rest, as they say, is up to him.

I agree with you his attitude did stink, but how many games was he ever given in a row?? Probably never more than two. Give him a new contract to get the vultures away then if not cutting the mustard in either Jan or next summer then get rid for a decent fee.

My thought exactly. Play him until January. if he wants to go he'll play his heart out and either be offered a bigger contract by us or somebody will snap him up for a decent transfer fee.

Put the lad on over 40 a week, he reverts to type, we're stuck with a long term danny graham, unable to get rid because of idiotic wages.

That's a risk you take with all players. But if he does well over the next 18 or so games then we should offer him a better contract.

Me thinks you'll get relegated if you don't get a decent striker in, 2 if Wickham leaves.

True dat, we did what we could to keep you in the league.

And I'm not feeling your love right now in return. Not a single word of gratitude so far.

Hmm, I'd be a lot more worried about YOUR strikers, or lack of.

We have 1 in 3 his whole career Fletcher to call on, in the PL.

    You have.......

We have... Papiss!... who is about 1/3 over his entire premier league career, and better than that over his career. Honestly, between those two plonkers, hard to pick which one I'd have. The spit fairy or the goat eater... Hmmm.

The confidence in your team is unending. You survived by the skin of your teeth, made one half decent signing and think it's gonna be smooth sailing. We had a ****e season but still ended up 10th.

Anyway, we'll know more on Sunday.

Aye, you had a great season last season. We might have had a s**te season but we did you lot twice, got to wembley once (nearly twice)

Whereas, the mighty toon.....12 points in your last 15 games. Without the QPR loanee you were averaging about 0.30 points per game.. relegation form since the beginning of the year mate.... you must be sooooooo proud. the fact that we had such a s**te season but finished with a -1 goal difference to you must be heart warming.

If i were you mate i'd be worried about your defence and the fact that you lost all your best players last season.

And Pap Cissy 4 goals in 26 last season. Connor got 7 in 14 games......now f** off.
