What happens though if he has a ****e season next season. Nobody is going to take him on for more then 25K a week with a possible 6-8 million in compensation to pay. Take the money now i say.
Looks like it's gonna be a busy week in the transfer market. Can't see him going until we've got someone in first though
http://www.claretandhugh.info/sunde...&utm_campaign=sunderland-knock-back-irons-bid Bid rejected and we are not willing to sell
But what happens if we don't sell him and nobody comes in with an offer before he is 23(?) then we get f-all.
That's a risk I'd be happy to take ...... better than losing a striker and leaving us with only one a week before kick off.
For the first time since Bent, I think, we have a player that someone else really wants. Make them pay through their bloody noses like we've had to or tell them to **** off!! And make sure we get every last penny for him even if it means selling him somewhere he doesn't want to go. Either that or can bloody well wait. And I totally disagree about some comments on here that we owe him. Bollocks, we owe him nowt!! He signed a contract and got paid according to it. If he wants to leave, let him go, but on our terms!!
Whatever the outcome of this, the timing is awful. 6 days before our opening game and this happens. Not the best preparation, assuming Wickham was in line for a starting place.
It's just par for the course though. This happens every summer transfer window. I just hope we deal with it on our own terms. You don't see the likes of Levy being pushed around. We should act in the same way.
No reason he can't start on Saturday, he can't afford to play ****e if he's after a move. Rooney demanded a move from Man Utd years ago ............ tell the lad straight, "We're the boss of you now."
I've said it already and I'll say it again. It would be madness to sell him now, we have all seen the huge improvement in his play, yes it was only for 6-7 games, but that was the only time he had a run in the team. This lad is the future England centre forward and will be worth a whole load more than anything we get if we sold him now. Give him the contract he wants and put in a buying out clause of £20m.
I reckon Wist Ham do not really want him, as according to KUMB (WH forum) he will be stuck on the wing when mandy caroline is fit.
Staying another season, on his current wages, would 'cost him' around half a million pound. That's the only language he seems to understand so spell it out to him.
