I'd be so disappointed in our owners if Shaw or Lallana leave before the world cup. There is nothing to gain by accepting offers now
Board needs to come out and say what is happening tho. They claim to be more open then Cortese was, but we knew when Oxo was leaving and why, but now we know jack ****.
Lot of truth when Cortese said he could employee someone full time answering rumours. Reed statement was supposed to put it to bed, but when reporters start a new story, he has to come out and deny those? Perhaps the club should tweet daily. No Bids today 2 bids today, Pochettino selected stall on one and reject on the other
No I mean just say if we are or not ready to listen to offers for Shaw and Lallana. Even Cortese told us when a Oxo said he wanted to leave. I said nothing about answering every rumour, there just needs to be a clear message either way. As it is atm all people are getting is silence. Even the journos close to Saints can't get any info.
Agree. Shaw and Lallana are waiting to see exactly what they are possibly leaving behind before they make decision on their future.
I think there will be news about Mauricio soon...I want to know where we stand when a decision is made...I don't expect interim reports. If we keep MP (or rather extend his contract), then I will be prepared to accept we are going to be alright, even if a couple of players leave.
that's the thing isn't it. we all trust that poch is personally ambitious. if he signs we will surely push upwards.
Yep, we all want Mauricio to sign a new contract but I can't help remembering that our best players are on contracts, yet if they decide that they want to go, it doesn't much matter, so we are told. I also remember how it felt like the wheels had come off when Pardew was fired, and Adkins was fired, and when Cortese quit, and yet here we are.
The feeble £27m is rejected apparently http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/12/rio-ferdinand-leaves-manchester-united-luke-shaw (Come on DTLW - you tweeted it I copy and paste )
I think the MP thing is the prime, first-ff, only thing they're interested in doing before even looking at any bids, rumours etc. and I think it'll be resolved one way or the other soon.
So announcement on the OS that Pochettino has signed a new 3 year extension to his contract, followed by Shaw and Lallana signing new deals committing them to Saints until 2020- that's my vision Then we can all go on holiday and relax.
