http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27758163 Report on the request to leave at the end of the season
The report does not make it clear where this information has come from. Whether it's the club, Shaw's camp or could be Lallana(sick of his own bad press) This does not really change anything and circumstances have changed a little since the end of the season
No loyalty to the club that made you the player you are then Luke. Go on then, **** off at the earliest possible opportunity.
Couldn't you have saved this for an hour as I'm off on my hollyers. Very disappointed in Luke if true, though not unexpected. I hoped he'd have changed his mind...we deserved better.
Think that this is sort of old news - reports say that Luke Shaw requested this move on the last day of the season after we played Man Utd. Anyway go off and enjoy your holidays Fran - who knows what the situation with Saints might be when you return !!
Would be least disappointed selling Luke but find it worse than Lallana's situation seeing as he's had two good seasons - two fullstop actually - and has asked to leave at the first opportunity.
If true, then it's a bit disappointing that Luke wants to leave when at 18 he has so many years ahead of him, and it would have been nice to have him for 1-2 more seasons. £30 million and he's yours Man U.
Wonder whether this has "leaked out" because of the reports in the media that Manure have already lined up a cheaper and available alternative to Luke? Panic setting in by Adz and Luke that their multi million pound moves might collapse?
more pointedly, their agents panicking that their cut of a multi-million poind deal might disappear. no doubt mr barnett knew moving poch on would unsettle his other client.
Are you talking about Jordi Alba? I wouldn't rate him as cheaper than Luke. He's probably the best LB in the world at the moment.
Who cares really about Luke now. He is a very overrated full back. Obviously, I would rather he stayed, but he had ONE assist last season, and scored ZERO goals. £25m+ for him is silly money really. Great loyalty as ever, especially by an 18 year old who has really done not a lot.
I think the Daily Express have put a rather more revealing headline in their paper: "Luke Shaw told Southampton of his desire to join Manchester United - not Chelsea - on the final day of the Premier League season." It could have been Luke saying, if I have to go then I'd rather Man U. Although surprised by this, isn't he a Chelsea fan?
