I agree. I just thought he might have jumped further than one place up the league; a lot of big teams wanted him as well as you
Do united fans actually refer to themselves as 'man u devils'. Respect though, trolling us and mocking united at the same time.
Someone once asked me why I supported Southampton (in our previous PL incarnation). I said I was a pot hunter...they didn't get the irony of that.
Why does anybody support any team? I started supporting Southampton 14 years ago (I'm 26 now) and I didn't support anybody before that. I've moved about quite a bit so I wouldn't have began supporting a team based where I'm from, plus the quality of the football in the Irish Premier League is atrocious. My father is English but from Kent, he wasn't even a football fan until he started taking me to Southampton matches, now my little brother and nephew support them too. It has to start somewhere and I'm happy that it was me in our family.
When people used to ask me why I supported Saints I would reply "Why not?". To which they would reply "because they're crap". To which I would reply "Well, being born there at least I have a reason to support a crap team". Whilst uttering the last sentence I would always gesture my head toward their Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal or Spurs ****, I mean shirt. Always seemed to do the trick and shut them up. Nose has still never recovered though. These plastics don't seem very tolerant of any criticism of their team. Maybe because they chose them rather than us not having a choice??? Seems strange to me. Anyway UTS and Nooo you cannot have our left back. We are moving up another place next season.
Obviously most of the fans I socialise with have chosen a team to support at some stage being from Northern Ireland. It wasn't a conscious choice I ever actually made though. it's very difficult to explain to people how or why it began but I was watching football for a number of years and I just felt myself tending towards the Saints. It snowballed from there! The thing I can't abide are the fair-weather fans, or half-assed supporters who think that they have done their bit by buying a big Man United mug to set on their desk in work. I don't honestly give a **** who anybody else supports if they are dedicated enough. Can't have people mouthing off about my team when they have only made it to Old Trafford once in a decade. I don't have to justify who I support or why to anybody but I thought I would share it anyway with my fellow Saints I get over to 3-4 games a season, if I could afford more I would go more but I can't even go for a day trip. It has to be an overnight and usually ends up being a whole weekend!
You're welcome. I am talking about the days before Chelsea became more popular than Spurs so I had to include you
I would rather he went to Chelsea, especially since all the United fans started basically taking it for granted that it was a done deal. I hate this "we can sign whoever we want" attitude. It's not ****ing Soccer Manager. I would rather he went in search of Champion's League football instead of a team one place above us in the table.
