Long, still. He's not a miracle worker. I think we'd need a takeoever before we could be considered with the strength of Utd, City and Chelsea.
This could go either of two ways. First way: AVB, spurned at the injustice he suffered at the Chavs and determined to prove to the Russian and John "fetch my white hood" Terry wrong, he will inspire our boys to the most successful season in our modern-day history. Second way: the Russian and John "fetch my white hood" Terry are proven correct, and we where the Chavs finished last season - outside the top 5. I'm hoping for the first, but fearing the second.
Lol, i know i said i'd drop this, but Defoe is a definite biter. He might be useful in the roasting. Right, definitely shutting up now. Gotta do some work.
Unless we can overhaul Arsenal, and they have already strengthened this close season, then i think we're looking at 5th anyway. City, Utd and Chelsea are either too strong or have too much money for us.
What was the relative strength of Porto, when AVB had his "invicibles" season with them, compared with other teams in the Portuguese league?
What rumours were they, yesterdays?. SSN this morning said that Sherwood will not be a DOF. His role this far has been youth developement, and it is unclear atm to his exact new role, but he will probably continue in a more senior position in that dept., I'd say the jump to DOF is too soon for him. He may be the No.2, he and AVB became friends taking their coaching badges at the same time, as pointed out by another poster recently. He will also be on a 'transfer committee' with Levy, AVB, and others. I can't recall if AVB had a DOF at his previous 2 clubs or what his stance is on that.
The Hulk/Falcao partnership was the biggest difference - they got 39 goals between them in the league, while the Hulk/Rodriguez partership that played last season got 29 between them. Their defense was as effective in both seasons.
was just about to clear this up Notso! 100% tim sherwood will not be DOF Dona, you've made some awesome points. Its quite amazing when you look at the managers Chelsea have had over recent years, and how they've been "unsuccessful", yet they are given no time, or what they do isn't good enough. (Ancelotti - prem league and FA cup.. not good enough??!! Bizarre!!) perhaps its Chelsea that's the problem. Infact, it is.
This is all I can see on Gylfi http://harry-hotspur.com/2012/07/we-got-gylfi/ I like the T-Shirt in the advert with picture of Modric saying "No like Chicken Badge"
I've just had a gander over on the Chav board. It's mainly tumbleweed, as usual, but I did notice some outright nasty postings about AVB. To a man, they think that AVB is a clown, and that he will fail for us. I'd love for AVB to smack the smirks right off their faces.
I like the fact Chelsea paid porto and AVB millions to allow him to join us for free . I really really hope he is a massive success!!
Think this may work out okay for you guys, as someone said he didn't cost anything, surely he can't be as bad as he was at CFC? Lots of personalities and ego's there which would've been tough to manage and Bale has signed on again, another bonus. Lets just hope all the mocking of the CFC fans you probably gave out doesn't come back to bite you! Good luck for the season
