well for a start bramble has been out for ages and has had a really bad pre season but you think he should start??
Bruce has had two years and four transfer windows to solve our problems on the left, instead he buys players in positions we are well covered, two years and not a single left sided player from Bruce
So where is he then? Or is he one for the future as well? We need players for today at the moment not in 2 or 3 years time. PS - Anton has played at right back several times and looks much better than at Centre back IMO, where his lack of concentration catches him out. Bramble is a much better and more powerful player who is fit (or why was he on the bench) and is a better defender.
Seems like it, but he is supposed to be a natural l/w, no harm in giving him a try, can't do any worse than whats happening down that side at the moment....sorry i meant for what seems like an eternity.
"What's wrong with this team" !!!! You put a center half at right back, a right back at left back, a left winger (Sessegnon) in the center of the park. Too many square pegs in round holes ! Oh wait that was the title of your post If Bruce picked this team played and lost, I'm sure you would have brought all these points up
Cest, I really, really, share the pain mate, I don't share ALL your views, but some........ yes. 2 games into the season man, far too early to be giving it Bruce Out - but not enough to be asking serious questions like "Square pegs....", the KR at LB issue, and the after match comments (they bug the life out of me for me being so much the same!! We are allowed to criticise, but let's make it constructive and get behind the lads.
Go **** yourself chum. Thats 2 snide comments on 2 separate posts. Bardsley won player of the year at left back? Ferdinand has played at full back for a lot of his early career at WHU. Sess is right footed you thick ****e and not a left winger. Anything else you want me to shoot you down in flames about while I am here? Do you know anything about our clubs players 'newbie' or are you just a mag full of ****e? Rokerlad - I wanted the man out 4 or 5 months ago but came back on board to see what he could do. That derby shambles re-affirmed my opinion. He is useless and not capable of managing outside the Championship, where hapless tactical know how and useless decision making can be masked and papered over. Martin O Neill IS a capable manager and available FREE. We wasted £2m on Elmo that could have been used to pay Bruce off.
Cestria please don’t forget that Elmo was lauded as the Egyptian Beckham! Even after proving last year he has no end product and isn’t a Premier Footballer we give him a lucrative contract. What I still can’t fathom is why sign so many players close season to strengthen known weaknesses and still play more or less the old team with the aforementioned weaknesses
I said last year that Muhammady was a very poor footballer and yet as you say, we gave him a contract. Pathetic. That money could have bee used to bolster N Zogbias wage, or signing on fee and we may well have had a decent player on our books. Bruce is clueless. Unfortunately, its going to take another season of struggling against relegation to prove it and by then, our better players may well move on, the best available man for the job now (O Neill is the outstanding candidate) will have found work and we will be left stuck with the fat geordie for another boring, tactically inept year. 2 games in and only Sunderland can turn sparkling promise into dust at the the first attempt. Predicatable? For Sunderland totally. Avoidable? Absolutely, if we ditch the fat controller and bring in Martin O Neill this week. Is that likely? Sadly not.
Both teams looked like relegation favourites if they both play like that all season we were good first half terrible second and when they scored just lost it yet again. I've lost count of how many times not just myself but many others on here on radio and in papers have said Richardson is not a LB. If any positives came from yesterdays debacle then it is that Richardson should be dropped from LB and never played there again. However we now have Bardsley out for the next game so that'll be no RB or LB for us well done Brucey great plan. Feel your pain Cest and like you was willing to give SB another chance in all honesty he'll get a few more games yet, was sat right behind Ellis Short and Quinny in the concourse and they looked less than impressed with the second half performance. We then get to the best ref in the PL Mr. Webb sorry he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is (possibly related to Bendtner?) he gave both teams crap decisions and was in my opinion a liabilty. Fair play to the barcodes one decent chance one good goal, that is what we are missing a finisher. Not sure what is wrong with Gyan but after yesterdays game if Spurs are still willing to deal then I'll drive him there myself, 3 very very poor games from him now and no sign of it getting any better. League Cup next at Brighton and a swift exit for SAFC is on the cards then newly promoted Swansea will be rubbing their hands at the prospect of playing us now, we don't frighten teams now they all want to play us never mind it could be worse I could have paid 36 quid to watch rubbish bugger I did.
Talc - Bruce's days are numbered but the amount of days will determine our season. I really hope we are knocked out of the cup mid weeks and lose to Swansea and Chelsea. Then the next 2 games etc until Short pulls the plug (Quinny isn't going to thats for sure). If we can get someone like O Neill in before September is out, I think we could have a good season. If we stick with Bruce the season will just dwindle on as all his seasons have done until we escape relegation by a mere thread (hopefully). I fear we may well stick with Mr Hapless until we are bottom 3 and looking lost and by then, either O Neill wont want a relegation fight or will have moved to another club and we will be forced to get another duck egg manager as we always have done.
i think we will struggle big time against swansea ive watched there two games so far and **** me they are a quick side!! they also play some nice football if bruce gets the formation wrong and chooses the wrong players we will lose for sure!!
To be honest Cest if we hadn't had a decent result against Liverpool I reckon he'd be in the jobcentre with his P45 now, Brighton are doing well mate so it'll be a tough game and one I think SB will focus on and take it seriously just like the FA cup last season. I'm willing to give him a bit more time to try and sort it out still plenty of the window left to bring in players. I'll judge him after September mate, still don't think O'Neill is the answer mind he has previous with American owners and Lerner is a mate of Shorts same business etc. so not sure he'll be up for O'Neill.
