A very good question Mr Funk and one that I don't think even CW knows the answer to. Personally I like the 4-3-3 formation but it only works if you play the right players in the right positions - unlike today.

Based on 4-4-3 I would pick the following team
Clarke (GK)
Batt (RB)
Davis (LB)
Wright (CB)
Dubes (CB)
Forster-Caskey (CM)
Chapman (CM)
Leven (CM)
Smalley (CF)
Pitman (RF)
Potter (LF)

Who would you play??

Houston I think we've got a problem!

If fit, motivated and the opposition has an off-day then I'd be interested in seeing the following line-up:

Clarke (GK)
Batt (RB)
Capaldi (LB)
Dubes (CB)
Wright (CB)
Davis (LW)
Potter (RW)
Whing (CM)
Levan (CM)
Pitman (LF)
Constable (RF)

Although I'd sign Lee Holmes and Calvin Zola given a magic wand.

We need to try something so why not a diamond in the center?

(GK) Clarke
(RB) Batt, (CB) Wright, (CB) Duberry, (LB) Capaldi
(CDM) Wing (CM) Leven (CM) Chapman (CAM) Potter
(CF) Pittman (CF) Beano

Looking at the permant squad on BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/oxford-united) we have
3 Keepers
11 Defenders
6 Midfield
6 Attackers

On paper it seems rather obvious where we're lacking strength and depth!

After watching Saturday's game one thing that struck me was how much taller Bradford's players looked. Our side looked lightweight in comparrison. I believe that we needed to make at least two key signings over the summer: a big target man up front to give us the option of going long and a 'hard as nails' midfielder to boss the game more. But we have what we have and with any luck Rotherham won't get any corners.

I think with Beano and Smalley we have the strength upfront but without Dubs and Whing on the pitch we did look a weak side especially with TC (wet fart).

We defiantly need experience to boss the midfield Whing could fill the gap, put his experience to good use until a decent signing can be made but need to play him with the pace of Davies and/or JPP.

We are desperately short in more ways than one!

I like to think that once all our big players are fit we'll move up the table but with so little information coming out of the club (which is a whole new story) it could be too little too late.
