I think you’re being really unfair on Bamford. He is part of the team (integral in Bielsa’s eyes) that won the championship by 10 points. After 16 years out of the premier league that whole damn team has earned legendary status in my opinion, not saying some might need replacing but we should be forever grateful for what they’ve collectively done. Let’s keep enjoying it until the new season kicks off.
Ayling had a stand out season. Scored some screamers. He hasn't done that in previous seasons for us. Dallas has usually done better with goals and assists and was about the same as Ayling last year. I would expect Dallas as an ex-winger to be better going forward. The downside to Dallas is that he would normally play as a left back and it is widely reported we are after strengthening in that position. Dallas played more games last year as he is very versatile playing anywhere in midfield as well as as a wing back. Bielsa likes both players. To sum up, if both were going to play then I would probably go for Dallas as a more consistent point scorer regarding minutes, goals, assists.
I'm not Bamfords biggest fan. However it was at luvgonzo asking about fantasy football team. By saying he was useless it was just a way of saying forget picking him. Question, would you pick Bamford in your PL fantasy football team?
I was considering him so good advice. Ayling is also cheaper than Dallas so he's in. However I'll change it a million times before it starts.
No, but I just appreciate what he’s contributed to so loathe to have a go at him. Hoping (though true, not expecting) him to surprise us all.
I wouldn’t pick Bamford in my PL fantasy team either mate but, equally, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he got 25 goals and was suddenly thought of as a £40 million striker. Has all the talent in the world and could just be the one that shocks all the knockers (ooh err). Would be funny as feck to watch everyone worrying themselves silly in a years time about him not signing a new contract. Go on Paddy Son, get one for yourself
Ayling nominated for EFL player of the year, not bad for an oil tanker How about his 100% effort, commitment and fight, or his relationship with his manager who calls him Bill because thats a name everyone in the squad call him. A popular member of the dressing room. Sometimes the most wanted players are not the most skilfull players but are more effective and are mportant cogs in a well oiled machine
I credit Ayling for grabbing the team by the scruff of the neck when we were in a rut after Christmas and dragging them kicking and screaming back in to form. His performances since December have been outstanding. The overlapping run in the 90th minute vs Swansea to set up Hernandez winner will live long in the memory. Not only a great player but very brave on the ball, popular in the squad and epitomizes Bielsaball fantastically well.
Great character and yes he led from the front. I said this early new year but i do not think he is prem standard.
Personally think Brentford away was the big turning point. When The Clown does what he does best and gave them a goal there just looked to be an anger in the whole team, like, he’s not costing us again and went for the throat. Drew, should have won but never looked back and Bill as much as anyone epitomised that
