He,s been s**t from day one mate, a bang average footballer who cant control a football or his emotions, without doubt he and JoS have played a big part in the problems that have beset the club on and off the pitch during their sojourn. They are not the only ones of course, but they have fooled a lot of people a lot of the time, including a string of managers, excepting two. And me <ok>

Gonna have to disagree with the since day one bit Clockstander.

He put in some exceptional performances, admittedly early on. Don't ask me to list them! <laugh>

I agree about your other points though.

I was like Marcus, a big fan, but now I'd be happy to see him go as well.

The problem is, who to? And when?

Disagree that he's been **** since day one - he's actually a better player in the PL than when he dropped down.

I actually think he was a better player than people gave him credit for. Limited yes, but not **** IMO.

He was part of the best midfield 3 we've had for a long time under Big Sam with Yann & Jan and they looked best part of a top 10 midfield 3.

He was a round peg in a square hole in that midfield though. If Sam had stayed, I've no doubt he'd have been replaced, at least within the first 11. Always worked hard but never had enough quality and his organisation and game awareness was never very good.

He's a chap who splits opinion

Who gave him a new contract anyway?

I can remember Poyet bringing him back in to the team and giving him a new deal when Di Canio left, but that was in 2014.

Has he had a new deal since?

If I was getting a player name it'd have to be Gooch, suspect in a years time I'd be saying O'Nien.
