Tyrone Barnett moves on in a mutual agreement on his contract. We must assume that there are plans to bring in at least one player to replace him and hopefully another in defense.

 

Yet another waste of the club's money - first in buying him for 100K and big wages for our club and then not having an idea how to use him properly. In my opinion either Barnett and Collins could have been decent League 1 strikers given better service and I am not sure we will attract anyone better. So Tyrone joins the ever lengthening list of players paid off and the merry go round continues - this is no way to build a team.

Just got back from a Swiss mountain-top hotel where the promised Wi-Fi failed to materialise for more than three seconds at a time. Good result in the league cup and we certainly have some chance of an upset at Sunderland. Disappointed to see we have not yet scored a league goal though the new signings mayl take some bedding-in (I don't know much about the lads from Stoke but am just amazed we have someone who is ex-Barcelona academy!)
Saturday's game is absolutely crucial - we must avoid defeat against an in-form Chesterfield side who have a striker who is well above League 1 standard. I don't care if it is early in the season - we just cannot afford to go on losing game after game at home and patience will be wearing thin if this continues. Come on MM - get these new lads organised and lets have a real go at Chesterfield and hope we improve on our performances against them last season.

No surprise and just another example of MM's scattergun approach to player recruitment last season - lets hope this season's lot turn out better.
