Think we need a GK, RB, CB, CM, 3 wingers and 2 strikers personally. I make that 9 signings so a fair amount
I think you need to pay a bit more attention. We have four new signings either already in or confirmed as coming in by journos who have been correct on everything else that has gone on since May.
I was only going off the 1 confirmed signing that has been on skysports, don't pay too much attention to any other football sites these days as they talk a load of crap most of the time. Obviously Silvestri would be the GK and Bianchi the CM but as far as I'm aware they are the only 2 others that have supposedly signed at this point.
latest player linked is Doukare from Catania ... lets face it, these are all players with small clubs we are signing so far, its still a worry Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Seem to remember us spending a million on a Crewe player last season and people were pissing them with excitement
You do know Catania were in Serie A last season right? Yes some were on loan at Serie B clubs but that is the equivalent to the Championship in Italy. When was the last time we signed a player from a big club?
Catania were relegated which is probably why we're in for a few of their players, bellusci the centre half looks worth a punt on paper. Doukare less so. Didn't score in seria a, didn't score much on loan in serie b... But who knows what his all round game is like.
Bucks, Serie B is nowhere near the Championship bud .. I am pleased we are at least giving our squad a blood transfusion, but still feel at least ONE high quality signing will be awesome for the dressing room and may well be the glue that brings the squad together ... I am willing to give all our new players a chance, but every team needs that bit of quality ... Wilko did it with the signing of Strachan who became the leader, and look how well that worked, and then he brought in Lee Chapman half way through the season to push us on to promotion Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
True Wilko did that but Leeds is a different club now, I see him getting a young lad who has notched a few. If we have a chance at Christmas time then yes he may well spend a bit and bring in some proven talent for that final push.
Cellino is simply cutting the wage bill down to affordable proportions by offloading as many as possible overpaid English players and filling those gaps with much cheaper Italian players. Having pocketed a handsome amount for McCormack there better be a good couple of replacements on the way otherwise next season has relegation written all over it.
Not sure about that. The Championship is the most exciting league around but not much quality or technical ability. Plenty of average sides with leaky defences. Take Leicester for example, promoted with a pretty average squad. The thing they had which everyone else failed to find was consistency and a winning habit. For the record I'm pleased we're offloading the overpaid journeymen Brits. Obviously these new signings are an unknown quantity to us, and I still find the appointment of Hockaday a strange one, but a complete clear out and fresh start was definitely needed. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out
revolution .. like your summary mate, dang good .. new players linked: Kieran Agard (Rotherham) ... Daniele Cacia (Verona) ... Giuseppe Bellusci (Catania)
Spot on. Last few seasons the standard in the championship has been for the most part shocking. We were awful last season and yet there were bout nine worse ones so I don't buy into this idea that players with u21 experience in Italy are somehow inferior to what we normally have
Jonathan Rossini, the Italian sounding Swiss international is training with the squad today: https://twitter.com/LeedsUnitedIta/status/487531026408046592/photo/1
Cellino confirms the signing of Rossini and Soulemayne Doukara. Also that he's a big admirer of Matt Smith and wants to keep him. Also, according to Adam Pope: "Cellino says the club is now debt free with £20m working capital plus the unbudgeted income from the McCormack sale." "Cellino says he has done a deal with GFHC who remain 25% partners but which has helped release cash to buy Elland Road back." "Cellino confirmed ground would not be renamed by any commercial sponsor. He says it'll remain Elland Rd because the name is special." I'm going back to bed, I can't take any more.
Thanks BillysStatue. Who should we be looking at regarding quality proven players, especially strikers? Getting late to find someone, now.
"I am with you" you said as San ho says he is going to bed. You are David Haigh and I claim my £5.00
