Yup this was the summer to strengthen the first team. I get the stadium build costs money. I just don't think us spending would have screwed us over...we are not that fragile.
Yes, we are. But we needed that statement of intent that showed we were ready to take the final step. We have state of the art training facilities, a new stadium that’s s the 2nd largest in the country, we needed to reinforce the playing personnel to match that. That’s why I’m disappointed that it hasn’t happened.
Piskie wum king. Levy has done a pretty good job building them up to being CL contenders but the real man behind the meteoric rise has been poch (credit to levy for spotting and keeping faith with him). It's been a long time since you've had a proper manager in Poch though and i just feel that after the past couple of years where you boys have been close but not good enough, this is a pivotal year to win something with the current crop you have (teams always go through cycles). I'm not sure how much longer this group of players and even Poch himself who was a bit distraught after the semi final loss to united will want to keep building with no money. Not 1 person signed is not a great message to the current crop of players about the clubs ambitions and i think there's going to be a riot should you boys get off to a bad start.
I posted this article yesterday. I want to know what people's thoughts are on Pochettino's words in this situation, given this was written before the transfer window opened. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...o-spurs-future-daniel-levy-spending-transfers
He has the most stylish haircut on the planet. He scored a cracker against Cardiff last season, have Messi, Neymar or Ronaldo done that? No.
I think you need more squad depth and cover for the likes of Dembele and Wanyama. You'll do ok but I'm not sure what signing no players will do to the team's overall confidence.
Me neither. Looks decent in a decent Championship team. Thats about it for me. I wouldn't be losing any sleep if I were a Spurs fan.
would have thought you'd be concerned st the politics at gooner fc. Compulsory buying supporters shares? what an utter ****...and you take the piss out of us liking Levy
personally no. We might be a bit thin but guessing ghe payers we wanted (like Martial and Grealish) were not for sale. Glad we did not just buy for the sake of it...it hasn't worked out when we have seemed to do that in the past. As for Grealish...gld we did not get him...havr said throughout that I do not get what the fuss is about with him.
No signing is better than bad signings. If we could not get who MP wanted we are better off where we are.
