The key for me is 3 teams being worse than us. We have ****ed whatever chance we had of staying in this league because we're good enough. Now we need to scrape ourselves to the 4 worst team in the PL. On that basis the contenders for me are

Fulham
Brom
Norwich
Sunderland
Palace

IMO we need them to all get beaten by the likes of Swansea, Hull, Villa and after that Arsenal game Stoke. The 5 above are the only teams we have any hope of finishing above. Due to our lack of goals we'll need 3 of them to have very poor finishes to the season. Then if we can scratch our way to 34/35ish we might stay here by the absolute skin of our teeth.

Nin I think you'll find it's 3 goes down not 2. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Dont's agree that clubs other than those 6 clubs you mention are out of it either.

If Stoke hadn't kicked their way to that win from what was generally a poor Arsenal performance, they be further in the frame than they appear. We have to play them yet at the CCS and that will be a true 6 pointer. Also not convinced about Hull either. Bruce is the one big thing they've got going for them, but he wont be out there kicking the ball.

Swansea look to have sufficient skill in the side to pull clear, but that was a shocking performance yesterday - Palace should have won that in the end. For all the ability they have, they look a bit wobbly to me, and this run in is not over for them either, though I think they'll have enough to do it.

You can't argue with the table positions and ours is looking pretty grim - beating Fulham is a must to keep at least one club behind us. Then, we've got to find two more that we can put there too.

I'll go for West Brom who we still have to play, and Norwich who have a horrendous last 4 games. Brom have Man U home this coming weekend and then Swansea and Hull both away - I reckon they could lose all three of those before we play them. That would be another 6 pointer that could decide it.

Yes it's 3 of course<doh>

Mustn't lose sight of our goal difference meaning we're a point worse than we actually are.

I thought we played slightly better again against a Spurs team not at their best.

Fabio & John done ok when attacking but in defence were found lacking, I thought Lennon put John through the wringer.

Gunnar was way out of it and without his long throws should be lucky to be on the bench.

Having said that it is our lack of goals that is our downfall.

Come on guys, that was a bloody good performance again - Hull was also a good overall effort.

As recognised by most, it's the lack of scoring that's going to do us if anything, and if one or two of those first half efforts against Hull had gone in eh? We could have closed down much tighter, rather than the Keystone Cop defensive stuff that cost us 4 goals.

I thought the overall defensive shape against Spurs was such a bloody massive improvement, but that lack of a potent hitman is so evident.

Just looking at the other drop contenders and their fixtures.

Looking at Stoke's remaining 10 games, they could hold the key to all this. On the face of it, they look to have a pretty easy run in, but there are some huge bottom table clashes to come for them that could shape the drop zone.

Away at Norwich this weekend - big big game for both those clubs like ours against Fulham - then they've still got us at the CCS to come later. The also entertain Hull and Bruce won't lie down and let his side be kicked off the park. Their last two games look possible relegation deciders - against Fulham and Brom.

Hughes has got them some decent scalps at home beating Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea, but their away record is crap and they haven't won since August. If they lose at Norwich this weekend, and we could manage to beat Fulham, they could start sliding.

Hopefully by the time we play them in April we'll be within a couple of points with the chance to overtake.

Ever the optomist.....<laugh>.

Don't mix concern up with interest bridgend , I have enough to be concerned about with my own team , cheers
