His contract would've run out last month, if we didn't extend it last summer...

Ahhhh Obika, I remember on the old 606 he was the only shining light in some hell hole UEFA cup match, and how he was the next talent to come through. How the mighty have... flatlined..?

It was to see the younger players last night. I thought the most promising players where mason, Byrne, Prichard and number five didn't catch his name centre back reminded me so much of Dawson! John bostock was terrible it's a shame as there was so much promise with him!

Cheers for the match report, SC.
Interesting to see how some of the youngsters are developing.

For those wondering who the Hall playing at centre-half for the first 68 minutes is, it's a 20 year old defender called Grant Hall, who we've apparently nicked from Brighton.
His contract expired in the summer, so I'm assuming that a fee will go to a tribunal, but he's barely played for them at all, so I've no idea if he's any good.

Actually the official site has got that wrong because Hall played the full 90 minutes, it was Veljkovic who came off. Whatever, as you say, he's the lad from Brighton and he looked reasonably composed in all areas of his game.

I found this Forum discussion about him http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?248299-Grant-Hall-quot-On-His-Way-quot

Brighton released him at 16, then signed him again at 17 - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/brighton/8296670.stm

Seems like generally they think he is quite a good player, some of them are quite bitter about him leaving <rofl>

I was wondering what was going on with our poaching half of Brighton's back four.

From what I've heard about Veljkovic, in a couple of years he could be stepping up to the first team.

    Barthram and Stewart.
Dem that had me in LB/RB sheer terror at the Basel Nextgen home game
taking AVBs' "high line" game to its ultimate conclusion. :)

"I'd like to see Coulibaly and Kane play together, as I think that could be a promisisng partnership"

They did at the Nextgen game against Basel, but Kane was playing way too deep
    to be effective.

Makes you laugh that, how his tournament was so strenuous, that he needed extra rest! <whistle>

To be fair, he would have been training in that time and will still need a holiday, a complete break from the game, like all the other players.
