If we don't sign Sig , our big buy will be a reasonable facsimile swantastic . The importance of the " Bodde " type player to us has only been reinforced by Sig's success ...a middle midfielder scoring threat was what we were missing before Sig arrived , seems crystal clear now !
Rodgers would be the biggest banana going, if he scapered off, after saying all that jackinthebox! I've not been one to have been taken in by all this crap from the English media that he's off to Spurs this summer, and that article says it all about his commitment to Swansea City, so all you doubters take note, and particularly you Dai!...................
Agreed cj if not Siggy then any likely replacement candidates guessed by us would probably wide of the mark , but i`d be happy with either an experienced pro at this level or a young cheaper hungry marksman leaving change for another defender and foreward ! I think Rogers will still be here next season for the reasons i mentioned previously.
Hope your right about Rodgers , not so much for us ..but for him . Any manager that comes to Swansea inherits' a pretty good team that has learned to deal with managers leaving on a fairly regular basis , in spite of success . Rodgers has been down this road before , the stakes are a higher now ... hope he learned something .
Yep, i know i could be wrong and i`d be gutted to lose him more for the upheaval it would cause too , but if he went to a big club he must know how unstable his position would be if he had a bad run there, not as forgiving as us ! and he could be back to square one then his media darling profile would be lost if he only wants fame & fortune away from us to jump now may be a bit premature for him longterm ?
dragon what are you on dude???? I have said that some fans are saying he is staying and i have said I DONT KNOW and the fact is none of us knows and i want rodgers to say he dont know or he is going or staying, he knows about all the uncertainty from the fans so be a man and make a statement so all this uncertainty can be cleared up once and for all.....i want him to stay but if he leaves us on the last day then so be it but his character will go down in my estimation by a lot of fans....
Huw Jenkins scored a winner when he signed Buck on for another 3 1/2 years. It'll take a pretty penny to get him out of The Liberty.
Brendan Rodgers has again dismissed rumours linking him with a summer switch to Tottenham. The Swansea boss is said to have been targeted by Spurs to replace Harry Redknapp after impressing with the attractive style of football he has instilled in his side. But Rodgers is keen to distance himself from the idea that he might be leaving Wales anytime soon, insisting he is already laying plans to move the club forward again next season. “I love being here,” he said. “I signed a three-and-a-half-year deal on January 26 and I’m so, so happy here. “It’s a wonderful club but it has treated me well and hopefully I have given the club something and what I have learned from football is that you can only think about today and not about tomorrow. “I really love it here at Swansea and we are already planning ahead for next season.” - Talksport There you are Dai he's just answered you!.............
BOOM! If that's true I'm a happy man. I don't believe in speculation etc, but once I'd heard he'd "signed already" for Spurs it did seem very strange that in every interview after that point he didn't discuss himself being at the Swans next season. Just seemed strange given the rumours that's all, and hopefully that'll put it to bed. In Buck we trust!
