He went with the more attacking option at wing back, I don't mind that. He's a positive manager. He's consistent on that part. He doesn't have many alternatives that's the issue. I'd hook Vestegaard and get Valery on, switch to a 4. To be honest I'd probably take Romeu off too and play Prowse central mid. Boufal and Redmond on the flanks and get another centre forward on up front.

Effectively it's 3 cb's marking Kane, completely pointless tactically. An occasion where Hassenhuttl has bottled it tactically at the break. He had to hook one of the centre halves bare minimum.

Football isn't played on paper and the players are humans not robots. It isn't as simple as like for like unless you stuck with the 4. Valery would have gotten ripped to shreds probably by Son anyway in a 4. He's slow as heck. Very average player. Great in the air on attacking set pieces but that's not really the point of him as a player. I will say this though, he might be as good as we can get. It's not like we are a big club and/or rolling in cash.
