I know its a different game than thread but Arsenal vs Swans may be postponed; due to Arsenals fixture congestion. Anyone????

If it is, would it benefit us?

Anything that gives Guido extra time benefits us imo
Tottenham are as bad as Arsenal , why don't they get some relief?

Just been confirmed our game with Arsenal won't be moved ...
We are in a very good position to play the Spurs and Gunners back to back in 4 days after we've had 14 days off with both the London teams playing games at a furocious pace during those 14 days .
On top of that , when we play Arsenal on the Wednesday , Tottenham play West Ham and 3 days later the Spurs and Gunners play each other .

They struggled in the first half valley but wore TNS down with superior fitness which i would expect. Emms scored the opener and Gomis scored the other Two...

. . . Emnes and Gomis on target at Landore

Bafetimbi Gomis scored a second-half double as a Swans XI beat Dafabet Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints 3-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Landore on Sunday.
After a goalless first-half devoid of chances, the Swans stepped it up a gear after the break against an excellent TNS outfit.
Marvin Emnes finally broke the deadlock on the hour before a Gomis brace completed the scoring for a Swans side that included new loan signing Leroy Fer.
Swans XI: Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Kyle Naughton, Stephen Kingsley, Kyle Bartley, Jordi Amat (capt), Jay Fulton, Leroy Fer, Marvin Emnes, Jefferson Montero, Bafe Gomis, Kenji Gorre.

Did anybody hear how Fer played. My thoughts with Fer are that we know about his temprement but we also know that he is not scared to shoot.Possibly worth a shout towards the end of games i.e spurs, arsenal when teams are tiring with less energy to close him down, just a thought

Mr G is set to change our formation and i welcome that. I hope he plays 2 strikers with Ayew just behind with a free reign and give them plenty of service, In the midfield i would like to see Leon calling the shots with the return of KI , Routs and cork and play our best trio at the back with Fab.....Lets start as we mean to go on and go for the win by going forward with neat passes and take every single chance we get to give our 3 up front the best opportunities to score...We have to get some away points to help our survival......COYS

To be fair our strike force has forced that reliant on them for being so poor. It's lucky they have got some goals or we would be a lot worse off and our goal difference that i am relying on would not be better than the rest...

Francesco Guidolin has been under the weather during the week - hopefully, this is not linked to any queasiness to this fixture. <laugh>

Tottenham slipped up last weekend in the FA Cup against Crystal Palace but they are in a rare vein of form while Swansea have found goals hard to come by and they remain perched above the relegation places.

I have to say, I barely agree with anything that Curtis has said in this article. He's contradicting himself all the time.

He says that we've missed a goal scorer since Wilfried Bony, but then even with him we were too reliant on Big Wilf anyway. The fact that Ayew and Siggy are scoring is, in a way, a replacement for Wilf. The issue comes that we haven't got the players around the team who are also contributing. When Wilf was on fire, we had De Guzman, Dyer, Routledge, Ki, Davies, Chico, et al. chipping in with goals (all have either left or have dried up on the scoring front, or both in Dyer's case). The issue is not that we miss a Wilfried Bony-type player as Curtis said. If we had Wilf back we'd probably still be in the same boat because the rest of the team aren't capable of scoring right now - meaning that the opposition can overload and pressurise our main strike threats and nullify us with ease. We need to find a system that complements and balances the assets that we have - the diamond is structured and disciplined, but ultimately toothless no matter which players we play.

The second contradiction is about Montero. He says that his form mirrors the team, but then goes on to say that he's not getting any chances because of the formation switch. Montero has barely played a minute in the league since the first four games of this season - ok, his form did dip, but a player of his type needs game time to get back into the swing of things and to maintain confidence. We can say that the formation doesn't help him all day long - but the fact is that he's one of our better players and we should be playing a system that suits him to get the best out of him. He's a game changer. A player that can create something from nothing. We need those types of players in our side right now. We need goals.

My team for tomorrow would be:

    Fabianski
    Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Naughton
    Barrow, Cork, Sigurdsson, Britton, Montero
    Paloschi

Bench: Nordtfelt, Amat, Taylor, Ki, Fer, Ayew, Gomis

No more blind loyalty to players. Taylor relegated to the bench - we don't get enough goal scoring chances from his play. Ayew to the bench - we need two out-and-out wingers who will play with chalk on their boots, let's stretch teams. Ki to the bench - a good player, but too weak for the physical battle, Britton and Cork are battlers and defensively minded and we need that if we're playing a wider game with overlapping full backs.

We have two games where the pressure is off. We're expected to get nothing. Let's go at 'em and show 'em we're not relegation material in the slightest.
