It's pretty crystal this one mind Somb. There's no inury, Pardew clearly doesn't fancy him for the derby. He played the full 90 minutes on this shoulder injury... I think this is a dirty tactic mate.
I genuinely didn't know the score, but I do now... PS...Let's hope this is a bad, bad week for the Skunks..
Come on lads Pardew's an idiot but you lot would wanna do the same in this situation. That kid is ****ing awful in nets, there's a loophole and it looks like Newcastle are gonna exploit it. You lot did the same with a City remember with the keeper going the other way. You seem confident they're getting humped anyhow so why give them any excuses?
I'm not sure we're that confident bud, with our insipid forward line. The more encouragement we can get from their lot on the keepr front, the better for us. Felt a bit sorry for the young lad Alnwick last night. Be interesting to see what this 17 yr old can do. I hope he's the same size as that Armstrong kid - who looks good by the way - ....that would be fun, a five foot keeper.
They'll get another in now surely, there's plenty keepers knocking about who need games. I wonder if there's any way of them getting Valdes, for a few games, he's a free agent. Maybe Harper from Hull is another option or, like somebody else mentioned, Schwarzer from Chelsea. Alnwick was taken the piss out of by Santi Cazorla with a penalty for 4-1 in their game, I found that cheap and pathetic from the slimy little bastard, that could have ruined the kid's career at Newcastle, if they write him off based on these couple of games. It's not just their keeper though, their defence is gonna be short on confidence as well, losing two games 4-1 back to back, they'll be in bits.
I wonder what directive is in place regarding providing medical proof of an official keeper injury. I'm not for one minute insinuating that NUFC would lie in an attempt to bring in a replacement keeper, but if fowl pay is found on their part, they would get keelhauled.
If Newcastle write off Alnwick based on a little bit of showmanship from a player then it basically shows what a s**tty club they are. He was simply wrong footed and no more then the club need to look at themselves. You could never expect a keeoper to save that - most keepers make their decisions before the player has got to the ball and stick to it. - Just my opinion though... I said before and I'll say again - 21 is no age for a footballer - particularly a keeper. There is no way he should be written off as he's still a kid FFS!
Even if he was wrong footed, he was humiliated by Cazorla unnecessarily, If you're gonna back up Santi Cazorla's actions mate, I'm not with you at all, there was no need for that pathetic bit of action. You'd be livid if that happened to a young Sunderland goalkeeper, who never in a million years imagined he'd be playing in that game. It was unsporting by the peewee Herman-looking prat, pity he couldn't dig out his 'tekkers' against De Gea innit? Carrick stuck the stupid prat in his pocket and that was his 30 minutes in a nutshell.
Different opinions mate. I saw CR do similar things at Utd to young full backs and defenders which would've been much more humiliating IMO. Using skill and step overs is not really much different to this and I don't mind any of it. just an opinion though terry
I disagree completely, skill on the pitch isn't unsporting, Ronaldo used skill to deceive and get past defenders, Cazorla done this to show off and it wasn't necessary, classless ****er. Even Cuducini tweeted about it... Carlo Cudicini ‏@Capitancarloc Dec 13 Well done Cazorla, 88th minute 3-1...very brave!! Would love to see it in a penalty that count. #notimpressed
Just an opinion mate - Ronaldo did it a nhumber of times with games already won and he took the piss. I remember him getting a ball at 3-0 I think and playing keepy uppy's running with it. IMO much less sporting and was lucky no-one took it upon themselves to snap him. End of the day it's not much different to stepping up to a penalty and then stopping to make the keeper dive. Although Jeff Whitley did this for us then kicked it at the keeper! You won't convince me to change my opinion and Cudicini won't either. If they finish 4th by 1 goal then the penalty really does matter
There's no specific time you can show me where Ronaldo has embarrassed a kid making his debut in goals. He did the stop-start penalty thing quite often before it was banned for sure, but against PL standard keepers. The fact Cazorla did that wasn't my issue, the issue is who he did it against, that part makes him a ****. Of course it's just our opinions, nowt against you at all mate.
Unfortunaetky for Alnwick, its the PL, its ruthless, its not the U21s or reserves etc. Lacking class maybe, but its just the nature of top flight football.
Way, way, out of his depth the kid, completely thrown to the wolves. If any United player did that to a young keeper making his first start, I'd be ashamed.
