Then the ref was wrong (though he would have been within his rights to card him) <ok>

I'm happy with the draw. I'd have taken that before the game.

Yes countinhos finish was piss poor and yes firmino is not great but... well we are doing ok and getting some ort of performances going.

    1. Mane is our best player.

    2. Matip started and ate kane alive. His passing is excellent.

    3. Lovern had a reasonable performance too.

    4. Milner put one foot wrong at lb. It lead to the goal but clyne on the other side and mingolet were all reacting and neither did great. It must be said milner played well aside from one moment he tried to read an interception and they put it over his head.

    5. Henderson played well. Very well.

I think we need to say it was pretty equal for first 20 then we destoyed them for 50mins then faded. I think we need to say they are a pretty good side but lack pace so we did work them over.

It was grappling... mr shawcross was also warned then did it again and the pen was given.... vertonghen was warned... i dont really care about that one.

I felt he was a bit curlish with the cards, then let lads off and missed the real dirt

To follow the logic...should the ref have not have warned Coutinho before carding him for slowing down a free kick? I mean play has stopped like...

    Good point.

    Both rules are clear.

We ended up getting a softish pen in the end but then second half saw some utterly one sided reffing.

Really like the look of Matip, looks like what we've been after in a CB for years, strong but cultured at the back, good in the opposition box for headers off frees and corners

Yup. Someone has to be aware of those runs forward and step in and cover though... cms need to do this.

Studge has been a bit whiny recently. When was the last time Studge scored a goal against a midtable or better team.

Firm isn't a striker and Origi is inconsistent. Origi might make a good backup striker but isn't good enough for us to be resting our hopes on.

First chance I have had to see Matip play a full game for you today, looks a very good addition to the team <ok>

For what...play had stopped according to you...if it's off the ball it's violent conduct us it not to judo someone....c'Mon D. Is silly.especially with the new rules...if the dip **** is fouling..you wait ...either it's a free out for our player pulling...or a penalty for the other....the ref cowarded it.

You can't give a penalty whilst the ball is out of play. If you had a throw in near the hallway line and two players were wrestling in the area would you expect a penalty (or be happy to accept it if given against you)?
A ref can warn players for this, he can card them if he feels it's necessary but, he can only give a penalty if the offence occurs once the ball is in play (after the kick/throw has been taken).

I wouldn't. We have a good record against Spurs in recent seasons. This was a 6 pointer, we'll very likely be fighting them for the last Europa spot. To drop points was a disappointment.

Contextually having seen the match it was a disappointing outcome yeh, given what went down

Objectively 1-1 against Spurs away, after a previous 2 away games and none at home this season yet, isn't a bad result

I watched him for the first time against Burton and he looked very good. Thought it might have because he was lower opposition but yesterday's game didn't disappoint.

Early days yet though. He needs at least ten games to settle properly.

The ****er should have scored yesterday. I had him to score any time and he hit the crossbar! <grr>

I was being lenient on Spurs tbh. I expect them to be about 8th while we're top 4.

    I'm nice like that.

I thought Firmino was really good to be honest, I don't understand why people are being negative about his performance.
