Heres an authentic quote by Bill Shankly about another famous Bill "I have always had the deepest respect for Bill Nicholson as a person and as a manager. The Spurs boss is an honest Yorkshireman and you will go a long way before finding a straighter character than that. Bill has never wavered in his determination to give White Hart Lane fans the best." - Bill Shankly The above kinda makes you look crass and Shanks look class.
O.k. Mr Pedant. You personally didn't. However your Liverpool colleague, did. When I said you, I meant your side. All clear now?
So say all the fellas with little dicks in an effort to console themselves "It doesn't matter - honestly" say their wives in an effort to console them even more
You really are a tosser insulting the memory of one of the best loved characters the game has ever seen. http://www.zen156211.zen.co.uk/quotes.htm
Your not very smart if you think managers sing their opponents praises in changing rooms before games.
I think there's one thing you should all know about Bill Shankly - The things he said to his players and the public, weren't always what he meant. I'll take Everton case in point, during his time at Liverpool he professed a hatred for them. After he had finished with Liverpool (or Liverpool had finished with him) he spent quite a lot of time at Everton. He was a great manager because he could build a side and motivate it to aim for great things, which happened to involve a lot of talking (and lying). It was part of his management style, and I don't think anybody should look down on him because of it. Ferguson does the same thing sometimes; in 2009 when it was Liverpool and United vying for the title, he'd wander into the dressing room and tell them all how well we were doing and that he wants them to go out there and do better, because it'll be a cold day in hell before he allows them to be overshadowed by Liverpool. I can't find the exact source, but I remember reading that.
And he's already intimated that he's got a little dick. We need some research to investigate the correlation between lack of penile size and lack of intelligence
Now that I've said my piece, can we all turn back to the game at hand and not the history of one another's team. I'm well aware this is turning into an argument, so any more comments along those lines will be deleted.
Defending the memory of Bill Shankly without resorting to similar insults about those connected with Spurs that have sadly passed away should be praised Ze.
And on the more recent relegation that Spurs suffered LFC were Champions of Europe and England a much more prestigious double.
Yep,and then Bill Shankly arrived and we more than made up for those nine years in the wilderness. Would'nt you agree?
Spurs may only have been in the 2nd Division for 1 season but their return to Division 1 did not really matter as their record since hasn't been to hot has it?
SPURS TEAM NEWS FOR LIVERPOOL: Harry Redknapp reports that Rafa van der Vaart has a chance of returning to action in Sunday's big clash against Liverpool. The Dutch international, last season's top goalscorer, picked up a hamstring injury against Manchester City on August 28. "Rafa could be available," said Harry after training on Friday. Harry added that he was also hopeful on Ledley King, who made such an impressive return to action in last Saturday's win at Wolves. "He'll train on Saturday and tells us if he's fit," said Harry, who also revealed that William Gallas had returned to training but as yet wasn't fit enough to be considered. Aaron Lennon (groin) remains doubtful with Sandro (knee), Michael Dawson (Achilles), Danny Rose (ankle), Steven Pienaar (groin) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle).
You are right when you say that it " depends upon what your benchmark is". It is clear to us that our benchmarks have been/are a lot higher as our record D1, the Prem and Europe prove
