You cant just play it every game though. I still don't think Macguire is anywhere near good enough at this level and it showed. Does seem to suit Elmo, but the space Spurs found in first half in front of our back three was scary. Solid bank of 4 and 4 wouldn't have given them that.
We played some good football today and were in it for 60+ minutes. Just need to get Jak back in goal, keep the turd Mason at home, and hope Mbokani and Diomande can give us some scoring punch. Also a new manager and owner would be a big help...but that aint going to happen.
But they will at some point. The past two performances are something to build on. I feel a lot more hopeful now than I did 3 weeks ago. We know most are a lot better players than they have been showing. Maybe that's our worst spell behind us? A lot depends on the window.
The reason we look better playing 3-5-2 is that we cannot field two solid banks of 4, thats the whole point, our full backs are not great at defending, they are wing backs, hence why we need the support of 3 central defenders. He has tried to play to play 4 at the back with 4 in front, and it has been shown to be bloody hopeless !
Meanwhile some fans don't like the manager who has taken them up to 7th. Our fans have often stated they won't want him in charge either with his supposedly boring football. Funny old game.

Didn't watch or listen. To me that's more worrying than the result. The current single most important objective of the club is to rid it of Allams. Until then results can take a back seat.

I'd be amazed if we didnt get relegated. We lack pace and don't have any Prem quality up front. Current problems Snodgrass can't play in a 3-5-2. He should be replaced on Saturday by Mbokani. At least 5 players needed in January. All hail the Allams. Brilliant owners!
****s sake.....Bruce left a sinking ship- Phelan has a 'squad' worse than the one that was far from convincing in the Championship and is trying to compete in a league higher. Stupid pointing the finger anywhere other than at the Allams for the position we are in
