STARTING SOON the 8th Season of the SPURS PREDICTION LEAGUE

Now is your chance to join the league and enjoy the fight to get your name on the Honours Board
Open to all Spurs fans and selected 'others'. Just place your predictions on this thread and you're away. New players are very welcome.

The league begins with a huge game away against Manchester United; a difficult start for Spurs and a tricky prediction for us in the league.

Good luck to all, deedub93 is our current champion and the 'target man' for the rest of us.

Honours Board
2014/15 deedub93 196
2013/14 Rebelspur 185
2012/13 PleaseNotPoll 201
2011/12 Blue and White 211
2010/11 rothspur 162
2009/10 Rebelspur 205
2008/09 onlythespurs 108

The Rules

1. Only your first prediction for each game will count, no revisions will be accepted for any reason.

2. Your prediction must be made before the kick-off, if you are 1 minute past the start of the game (as shown by your post time) it will not be counted. BEWARE the not606 clock MAYBE SLOW/FAST and this is the clock you are timed by.

3. Whilst I will make every effort to calculate your score correctly it is your responsibility to check your score and advise me of any error.

4. The league will be split into Divisions according to the number of participants. Each league will be no more than 20 players. Promotion and Relegation will take place throughout the season according to your points total.

5. Your prediction should include the following; The score of both teams and the names of the Spurs goalscorers.

6. You can place your prediction any time following publication of the match thread but remember if you leave it late, waiting for team announcements, you risk missing the kick-off deadline.

7. The predictions are for PL games only.

The Scoring System:

5 points correct result
3 points exact scoreline
2 points correct Spurs goal tally
2 points for each Spurs goalscorer named
1 point deducted for failure to predict

So there you have it, the first prediction game of the season is shown below, so get your prediction in and good luck.

I'm in - can we add two extra entrants? Merson and Lawro?

Obviously they don't predict scorers but would be interesting to see how they fare up against the rest of us...

I have Lawro in my league - the All Teams. Can add Merson in to that one.

I'm in. Thanks for doing this Spurf, much appreciated. I think I will wait till nearer kick of before predicting though. After all we will have more chance of beating Utd when we have resigned Bale.....................

Can't really do it because as you say they don't predict scorers I'll leave that to SD in his league. I can tell you neither of them would win this league, especially Lawro who never rates us and Merson huh Merson? not in my league thanks very much.

I reckon one of our new boys will get the winner, just hard to tell if it'll be Wimmer, Trippier, Alderweireld or Messi... Will do my prediction in a week or so, Spurf. Need to really analyse the squad's fitness, form of pre-season, temperature, wind direction and a few other bits :D <ok>

Length and colour of grass, kit fit, and not forgetting the biorhythms. <ok>
