Topscorers with 12 points each; junction8spurs, humanbeingincroydon, sheikh352, PleaseNotPoll, RoryAllen the legend, deedub93, notsosmartspur.

With one game to go PNP has a 10 point lead and is looking good, but he can't afford to get the result wrong. I suspect there will be strong tactical play as players check out other predictions and calculate the ramifications of following suit. Remember the kick off deadline! Lower South Spurs fell foul of that today! <steam>

Will our resident poet/songwriter audrey.s.thackeray win the Johnsons Paint league or will he scrape the first? He is in a fight with notso our photoshopper supreme.

Once again many thanks to all who have predicted throughout the season, making this the best and most competitive league so far. Early leaders have included Moorpheus19, El_Bando, and Blackboots and Blackboots is still in with a shout. Blue and White our current champion is about to hand over his crown. Players like sheikh352, hilly76,deedub93, and former champion Rebelspur deserve a mention as they are always there or thereabouts. Not forgetting our resident grunge OnlyOneDB who keeps going despite Spurs proving him wrong most of the time, I'm glad to say. There is some skill to this game as consistent performers prove.

12 failed to predict.

Bring on Sunderland, and good luck to Wigan and Newcastle.

Been a highlight of my weekend, thanks Spurf. Time to go big or go home for me, think I'll do it when I've heard the teams. Taking the last one seriously.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Need something Radical to get into top division. Spurs 5 Sunderland 1 (Dawson, Bale, Siggy, Vertonghen, Huddlestone)

As others have said already, cheers for all of the hard work on this, Spurf. <ok>

I was top of the league at the half way point <wah>

ok Spurs 3 - 0
bale
ade
sig

Were all going on a european tour! a european tour! a european tour!

It occurred to me that if I'd backed Spurs to win every game 2-1 (happened 8 times) with Bale scoring twice in each, I would have got 210 points and have a 16 point lead at the top!

New tactics for next season.

Assuming Bale is still there <laugh>

Mmm interesting, the consolation of being 2nd Division winner could easily turn into finishing last in the First if you get a few too many points...once again defeat snatched with open arms from the jaws of victory! :(

Resident grunge? Resident GRUNGE???

good thing that I like the Seattle-centric melodic musings of generation X freaks, that's all I can say!!

Anyhoo, prediction...

Methinks a nervous goal-fest, securing Sunderland's future in the Prem

Spurs 3 - Sunderland 5
Ade, Dembele & Defoe

And a big thank you too our organisational mod-master, who kept things on an Even Flow, a veritable Spoonman who apparently Smells Like Teen Spirit - <applause> Spurf <applause> <cheers>

Well done Spurf- brilliant again. Each year I do a little better, Looks like I'm aiming at the 2024 title at current rates.

OK Sunderland got nothing to play for, visit London, End of season party.

SPURS 4 Mackems 0 Bale, Ade, Lennon and Dempsey.

GET THAT FOURTH PLACE FOR ME!

You can sell every player I like
And keep one who can’t strike
Playing 4-5-1.
You can see how United are top
And how QPR drop
When the season’s done.
But don’t forget who’s been here all year
And whose support you want to see:
Oh Tott’nham, get that fourth place for me!
:emoticon-0116-evilg
You can play any way that you choose -
Against Fulham and lose -
Beat Man U away.
You can say what you like, AVB,
Though it’s quite beyond me
What you’re trying to say.
But don’t forget who’s been here all year
And whose support you want to see:
Oh Tott’nham, get that fourth place for me!
:emoticon-0112-wonde
[Gareth, don’t you know we love you so
With your speed and power and touch!
We just never want to let you go
We need you oh so much!]

:emoticon-0109-kiss:
We shall pray for a Newcastle win
And that you get stuck in,
And overcome fatigue!
Yes, we know that it’s out of your hands
To take your loyal fans
To the Champions League
So don’t forget who’s been here all year
‘Cos you’re the team we love to see:
Oh Tott’nham, play your hearts out for me!
:smiley-finger007:

And yes, in celebration of what happened fifty years ago this week.....
Prediction: Spurs 5 Sunderland 1
Scorers: Holtby, Ade, Walker, Bale, Defoe

Cheers, Spurf! <cheers>
Well done yet again! :emoticon-0150-hands
Great fun, as ever. <applause>

And a special thanks to audrey who comes up with the goods week after week and always brings a smile.
