Current walking wounded :

Lamela (hips / light training ?? / TBC)
Rose (knee / ?? / TBC)
Wanyama (knee / ?? / TBC)

PhysioRoom have pushed Wanyama's return off until Oct 14th <grr>

It beggars belief how our players pick up 'minor knocks' and are then neither seen nor heard from for 2 months.

I think that's just because he's not going to be back this week and our next fixture after that isn't until that date.
Another international break that Wanyama will miss out on.

My main thought, other than the DoF's man-bra, is trying to work out who the number 47 is. It looks like Georgiou, but he wears 42.
I don't think that we even have a 47, rather strangely. Pretty sure it's Georgiou wearing the wrong number.
Amos is 40, Dinzeyi's 48 and Austin's 49. All the 50s are used, but no 47, as far as I can tell.

We need all the top quality players we have available as lot of games and Danny R is total class when fithe could not be at better place

OK - but, on balance, I'd rather they had an extra week or two to make sure, than get rushed back for an important game, only to break down after 20 minutes - which is how it used to be with a number of leading teams, including us. There was too much pressure to hide injuries and play! That's one of the virtues of having a better quality squad. We are better able to manage without injured players for however long it takes.

PhysioRoom now has Wanyama down for an October 28th return <doh>

I'm definitely not imagining this. Over the past 2-3 seasons our injury record has frankly been abysmal. Maybe it's a reflection of how hard Poch pushes them, but my gut instinct is that there is something drastically wrong with the "aftercare" for injuries. So many 'minor knocks' end up being lengthy absences. Just think back to the days when we had it on good authority that Rose would be back by mid April and Lamela for the start of this season. And where has Dembele gone?!

In other news, full marks to Coco for maintaining a lean, trim figure despite almost a year out of action. Round of applause for a consummate professional <applause>

As for our benevolent DOF, the poor lamb has clearly been subsiding on pot noodles and junk food as his paltry salary clearly isn't nearly enough to buy healthy, organic alternatives. Pour soul.
