I'm sure. I think 30 goals in one season suggests he has a bit of quality about him. You don't do 30 via a fluke.
Next season will be tougher, but he'll be stronger and more experienced, so we can expect him to perform well enough.

On the offloading front, I remember saying early on in the season that if Spurs were willing to part with Eriksen and Kane they could have Rodriguez with my blessings. Kind of wish it had happened. Mind you, JayRod may come back and have a stormer next season. Then what [?], you may ask.

  2. I hate to pop anyone's bubble, but there really was very little chance of us selling Kane to anyone. His qualities had been observed over several seasons as a reasult of his contributions to the National youth side (Under 17, Under 19, Under 21, etc). If he hadn't broken into the first team this season, it's possible that we may have put him out on loan, but I doubt that would have been to a Prem club.

I think you'll find that the mood of the Saints forum earlier in the season was that we were still pee'd off with clubs like Liverpool and Spurs deciding they fancied our best assets and ideas. The members on here were understandably a bit sensitive and so if Spurs wanted any more from us then the idea was that they had to pay dearly.

My aim was to get Eriksen with Kane as a makeweight.

  4. Ah, I see. Good call.

You'd have had some team with those two in it!
