Just catching up on some more recent releases and picked up the last Riverside album. Yes, yes, I know ... more Polish prog... But wait.... Opening track is Human League meets AHA, but with the amazing bass and voice of Mariusz Duda! The album as a whole is excellent, but this is a stunner. Glad they kept going after the death of guitarist Piotr Grudzinski!
Jesus, he was 80 ! My favourite track of his , travel well Robbie and I hope you meet up with Levon ,Rick and Richard, along the way RIP
Skindred top the midweek UK album chart and they're in danger of making me sound like a hipster. Tik Tok has been abusing this song from 2008, which I think I may have posted before: I can remember the singer's very similar old band Dub War from their Earache Records days. They were on a compilation in 97 with a bunch of bands that will never, ever get to number 1. Napalm Death, Cathedral, Carcass, At The Gates, Godflesh, The Haunted, Entombed, Anal ****... Massively influential, but not very chart or radio friendly, to say the least.
Looking forward to Tuesday and a trip to the Lafayette in Kings Cross to see the wonderful Sarah Jarosz. Incidentally, @Alfie Conn I haven't forgotten my offer of a beer for the initial heads up if you're still going!
Fantastic night at the Lafayette on Tuesday, unfortunately I missed @Alfie Conn. Apparently he was up in the gods so especially for him here's a little taster of what it was like down on the floor. I was over the other side, just in front of the mixing desk.
Tonight there's going to be a jail break, somewhere in the town. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest it's probably going to be at the jail.
