Mrs B would have a purple fit if I even suggested such a purchase...and she's right. The Damned forums are left scratching their heads at the price this reached. It was drawing incredulous comments amongst serious collectors at just over £2k, let alone double that!

A number of influential fans are making suggestions that the band should be issuing more reprints of t shirts and posters, as many love the artwork, but can't afford collector prices. The Black Album artwork and caligraphy was designed by Mr Vanian, who was intent on a career as a graphic artist before being drawn to music.

A very interesting interview with JJ of The Stranglers...

    https://www.guitarworld.com/features/to-be-honest-im-not-really-a-bass-player-ive-scammed-people-all-this-time-the-world-of-jean-jacques-burnel?utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_content=guitar-world&utm_medium=social&fbclid=IwAR0mgtmwPvUX5rzXsO_aJiFW2ge82nqXidn2cz2P3lPBZXopHG68dwC7K9E

Very interesting that he mentions Captain in relation to punk bass players. The reunion shows really reminded me how well he plays bass, which he says he hates...and derides bass players pretty badly (Paul Gray excluded).

Original Radio 1 DJ's. How many can you name (without Google assistance)? I only managed 8 - but all pretty obvious. Either my memory is failing or the rest were just nonentities <laugh>

    Full disclosure : I am a 50 something ...

I got 7 (those who are legends +/- had a lot of TV exposure beyond ToTP) .

I did not recognise Bob Holness of then (uncharitable -
or a commendation of more youthful looks before his
Blockbusters days ?? :) ) , and similarly perhaps should
    have remembered Dave Cash.

I got the usual suspects plus the Joe Bugner look alike on the middle row who is Mike Lennox , former Radio London pirate DJ, only know this because I was watching the film "Smashing Time" starring Rita Tushingham last week and he was a pirate DJ in it and I looked him up

Simon Bates had a bit of a reputation around the night clubs and bars of Buckinghamshire and he had a couple of minders that kept a discreet watch on him incase he got a bit touchy feely at the end of the evening , he was known to have helped some girls with their homework

We're off to an unusual gig tonight. A celebration of 45 years of Iggy's 'Raw Power', with Iggy's part taken by....

    ...Katie Puckrick........?

Yeah, I know...but the band is great...

It could be great...or not...<laugh>. It's sold out but a mate has opted to see Les Damned en France, so we're going instead. I'll let you know more tomorrow!

    Who knew?

A couple of people whose taste I generally trust have said good things...but you never know...and it's a great band....and truth be told, we didn't pay much for the tickets. <laugh>

This could be an interesting listen on Sunday: 'The Rockonteurs' podcast (Gary Kemp & Guy Pratt) have Paul Simon as their guest!
New Wave and Prog meet Punk Royalty!
Never knew he was the touring bass player on Gorillaz!

    Well, who knew...?

Not only can Katie Puckrik sing, she can can lead a band and hold an audience.

The band were really good...and Ms Puckrik was the star of the show.

Lots of faces from back in the day and a few Puckrik bitches as well.

Very enjoyable...next it's The Vapors and The Molotovs in a couple of days.

Will post some footage in the next few days.

He's worked a fair bit with Damon Albarn, starting with the Good, Bad and the Queen project. Not only was Paul the bassist, Mick played guitar on that tour. If you watch the video for Melancholy Hill, you'll see their cartoons in a submarine.

    Damon's a real Clash fanboy.

OMFG!...In this interview to publicize the current gigs, Clem Burke tells of a project with Glen Matlock that never quite made it to a stage. The 2 other names are absolutely astounding....I won't spoil it for you...but I promise that your flabber will NEVER have been so gasted...unless you've heard it before, of course.
