Today marks 30 years since the release of Weller eponymous first album - not quite half my life ago but bloody close!
This , Wild wood and Stanley Road are peak Weller post Jam in my mind ,he's had some highlights along the way but non constantly better
I posted the Damned P9C7 clip from Night of the Vampires on my Facebook page as I really liked that version and after a bit of banter ended up here with two of my favourite things combined, Russ Meyer and The Cramps! Personally it really doesn't get much better even if it's only a fan video!
I love that fans produce videos like this... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=damned lego music video ...they are truly wonderful.
Last night returned to the Hope and Anchor for a gig as opposed to just a beer for the first time since the 80's to see Karen's London debut. If anyone still remembers The Brilliant Corners from the 80's/90's this is Davey Woodward's latest project and very good they were too! The only disappointment really was how few people were there to see them, having said that at least those that were there clearly enjoyed it!
No, and I'm not having it.....'fascist regime' doesn't rhyme with 'king' anywhere near as well as with 'queen'.
I've been humming it all day...but I've forgotten most of the words and "it's so lonely on a limb" hardly carries the same impact.
I never stopped listening to it 36 years and counting, comfortably in my top 3 Smiths tunes and for anyone who told me Morrissey had no sense of humour, all I have to say is So I broke into the Palace with a sponge and a rusty spanner She said, "Eh, I know, and you cannot sing" I said, "That's nothing, you should hear me play piano"
Btw just in case anyone out there was wondering what the other two were here they are although I still can't say what the order is!
